Had a search of the Sporting Memorys Catalogue for my club, Leyton. Nothing against them apart from having nothing at all. BUT, there seems to be a trend amongst auctioneers to offer 'bundles of programmes'. Unless it was a bundle from 1920 I am not interested in bidding for ten programmes if I only needed one. I take it that programmes from even now the early fifties are no longer commanding a decent price for the auction house to bother cataloguing it.

With a few exceptions only pre-war non-London programmes are worth bothering with these days

The bundles attract the dealers? I've regularly seen some of the things I've put in in bundles ending up on dealer's lists within a month or two of the auction finishing.

It's no longer a hobby.

It's a niche market.

It's annoying when there's one or two programmes that interest you in a bundle of 80-100 programmes. I'd like the two programmes but not the other 78.

I bought a huge box of football cards/stickers a few weeks ago. I only wanted very few of the items in the box. I collected the box from the auctioneers, took out the ones I required and left the box behind to be re auctioned. Saved sifting through and selling loads of stuff I didn’t want.
