Hi people,
I am new here and new to programme collecting. I was wondering how people keep a list of their collections to see if they have any programmes missing?
Is there any websites to help with this or any other tools?
Thanks in advance,
Ben

For my personal collection, I use a spreadsheet, season, home, away, comp, condition. I mark the ones I have, leaving gaps for ones I want
you can add any appropriate field you want.
you could check out our "General" section on our website for an example of a list type spreadsheet (apologies for the unashamed plug!) _________________ KOP

Welcome aboard! If you're collecting one club then an Excel document with one sheet per season is probably the best way to go. Search the interweb for a comprehensive list then store the fixtures one per line (opponent, home or away, date, competition) and then use th enext couple of columns to note if you have the programme, a column for notes and a column for tracking whether or not a programme exists!
Easy then to add a column for tracking tickets, a column for matches you attended, etc, etc.... hours, nay, years of fun guaranteed! |

Keep everything in my head, which probably explains why I very often have two of some things! |

A few years ago, I printed off all Spurs fixtures by season since the war (including friendlies etc) and from there highlighted all the ones I had.
Once that was done, I listed the "wants" on to a spreadsheet and just delete the ones that I acquire, so my list is always up to date and thankfully, always getting smaller.
The only problem now is that I have a few hundred from pre WW2, so I need to do the same again at some point.
We all have different ways of listing and you will find the way that best suits you. Good luck. |

Excel spreadsheet with a tab for each of Derby homes, aways, reserve homes, reserve aways.
Opposing team populates the x-axis, seasons each programme relates to populates the y-axis.
Drawback is it doesn't allow for the creation of a wants list, as the spreadsheet's basis is "opposition" rather than "season"
I also use Excel for Amateur Cup Finals, non-league items and Football Monthly but also link those spreadsheets to my Flickr website for ease of locating a particular scan. Time-consuming to create, though. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Ditto, although also have Excel spreadsheets.
I can access Flickr on my phone whilst I'm out and about which is very handy, although my wants lists are so small I have them imprinted on my brain _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

I use the good old handy dandy journal and pen. I've also downloaded some apps before but I didn't like them as much as the physical records. I also don't check my phone regularly. |

I have a word list in date order but ideally hope to get them all onto my website
10footballs.com
There`s about 3000 on there so far, another 2000 or so will be going up in the next couple of months.
Its a long job particularly as I don't really pick & choose. They all have a story to tell, even if I don't know what it is! |

On another note, I'm thinking of maybe creating a website to share my collection. I'm no tech guy and I don't know how to code but I think I might be able to create a football collection website using a website builder like hPage - https://hPage.com
My niece recommended me that website and the idea so I can share my collection to other people so they can see it too and it won't gather dust in my room. I reckon she's right. So I might make a website any time soon.... |
