TO THE FORUM ADMIN

Can I suggest that a new section is created on the Forum:

"Gone but not Forgotten".

This Section would record Players who have passed on and where Forum members could post links to their Obituaries etc.

I hope that other Forum members will support this proposal.

An excellent idea in my view, many players pass on, not particularly big names/former internationls etc. but also players who played a part in football fans life one way or another. My vote is positive, lets see what the others say.

Thumbs Up

I posted dozens of them years back, till the Independent went online only. We could start by finding all those and moving them to the new folder (if that's possible).

Great idea - wish we'd thought of it before.

Terrific idea.

We often pay our respects on here, so it makes sense to put them all in one place.

Nothing seems to have happened to this proposal so I have sent a message to Jamie to see if the new section can be created.

Apologies for not getting this done.
Am spending most evenings at the local hospital at the moment visiting my mum. Just got home now. Will get it done asap as I think it's a great idea.

Cheers, Jamie.

A little update. For some strange reason I am unable to get into the Admin page. Of course this means I can't add this new board. I emailed Craig last night and he is looking into it. Hopefully it will get sorted soon.
Cheers, Jamie.

Saves me looking up wikipedia to see if they are still alive, not joking I often reflect on the great sports, tv and film personalities and no idea if they are still alive.
Nice touch though acknowledging the sports stars that have graced our lives.

Hi guys.
I am still unable to get into the admin area and Craig is still trying to sort it out.
He has though been able to insert this new section manually. (No I have no idea what that means either).

Cheers, Jamie.

Craig & Jamie, is it possible to move all the old RIP posts to this new section?

I think this is a great idea but how about a slightly more euphemistic name such as 'gone but not forgotten (I have nicked that from somewhere but can't remember from where).

As I become more concerned about my own mortality, deceased - although accuate - seems a bit harsh.

Any thoughts or ideas?

The new section IS called "Gone but not forgotten" - see home page.

Perhaps that is where you got it from.

Opps, didn't see that!

Probably picked it up from there or possibly some books on ex league clubs by David Twydell - but not sure.
