Been after the England Scotland programme from 1959 that was Billy Wright's 100th cap for sometime now. But being a tight Yorkshireman didn't want to pay some of the prices it was listed under on eBay. Anything up to £12 & usually going for about a fiver.

Anyhow I bide my time and have this week picked a copy up for a quid. Happy days.

Have also just got a copy of the Wales v Belgium programme from 1949. Wales's first home match against continental oppostion. Cost me £16 but still think I managed to get a bit of a bargain given the historical nature of the fixture.

It wasn't his 100th cap though Wink

It was his 100th game but for some reason 51-52 (I think) England decided to issue a cap per season. In his whole career I think I recall he actully got 97 caps. An odd fact for ya.

Well done chap.

Thanks for that nugget of info mate, nice bit of trivia that.

Thumbs Up

Bagged myself another bargain today. The Irish FA 75th anniversary game of 1955 United Kingdom v Europe only £5.50. Crackin' stuff. Very Happy

Though gone a bit mad with the programmes this month. Spent far too much. Gonna have to be beans on toast every night until payday later this month. Laughing
