Sadly, this is a Wales collector selling up.

I bought his Wales v Scotland stuff off him as he had a number of items I was after, he said his rare stuff was to follow.

Everyone has their own ideas, but to me a programme is something that's available to the general public on the day of the match to aid and abet in their viewing of the match.

To get this on the day, you would have to be one of a select group.

Nice to have, but I wouldn't have it on my wants list of I were a Wales collector!

A bit like these 4 page blue and white productions that Derby's newspaper issue was contained within and were available only to guests of Sam Longson and co on the day.

Nice to have (and I have a few) but they're not on my wants list!

More souvenirs than programmes.

Thoughts? Am I talking nonsense?

The Spaniards have form for this

.....and yes, of course the Wales programme is a programme, or are we saying VIP issues are not programmes and should not be on wants lists?

Fair enough - as a collector, I can understand the desire to own a copy as a souvenir of the match.

But, as nothing was available on the day to the general public (am I right in making that assumption?), then a pedant like me would still have it down as a "non issue".

Sorry - I'll get me coat!!

each to their own on this.

I think it is very likely nothing was available to the general public for pre 1962 Spain homes. However in my view they are still programmes. Furthermore it is often quite easy to get these by just asking.

Macedonia last year only sold the programmes to away fans. Given the programmes cost more than three times the ticket price for home fans I think i9t is obvious who they were aimed at.

These VIP only issues are appearing more and more at International matches now.

Hi, can anyone tell me if the Spain v Wales programme has held its value and what it is worth on its own? Also looking for valuations on 1958 Spain v Northern Ireland
and 1988 Spain v Scotland.
Thanks

I've seen Spain v Northern Ireland 1958 sell for £300 but quite a few have appeared since so I think you'd be lucky to get half that. Hard to know though.

Yes the Spain v Wales 1961 will still fetch a price around that sold back 2012, and I've heard of it selling for more.
