The only bit I can help you with is that this match took place in Dushanbe which is the capital of Tajikistan but was then part of the Soviet Union. The Aer Lingus bit is a bit of a mystery. Could they have been a sponsor of one of the Irish teams at the time?

Was it by any chance Aer Rianta F.C.?

There was a team for staff of Dublin airport called Aer Rianta FC which has since been renamed Dublin Airport FC.

When there was such a thing as Duty Free shops Aer Rianta got the contract to run the shops in Russia. A friend of mine who worked for Aer Rianta spent 12 months working in Moscow due to this.

It is Aer Lingus as in the airline. The programme appears from time to time and never makes that much.

They actually played in the FAI Cup and were beaten 4-0 by my team Limerick in 1982. All 4 were headers proving they were not as good as they thought in the air.

They also issues a programme in the ealry 1950's for an FAI Cup tiie v Shamrock Rovers.

They were a fairly strong non-league side in the 80s, and would have played some of the League of Ireland clubs in the Leinster Senior Cup (very roughly the equivalent of county cups in England) on a fairly regular basis. Dundalk put 12 past them in a friendly before the ref blew it up ten minutes early.
