My lad has a number of programmes in his collection.

I've been cataloging them on a database, date, teams, Competition, Condition, Location and value.

Its taken me months, and I've still got a few to record.

I was just wondering how anyone with a large number of programmes,

i.e collectors, or dealers go on, because I'm losing the will to live. Sad

There's no shortcut unfortunately Sharrow.
It's a long job.

For my Spurs collection, I copied the fixtures (including friendlies) on to sheets of paper and then highligted the ones I had.
From there, I put the remaining ones on to a spreadsheet which gave me my wants list.
Pretty basic, but it works well.

For my stock of approx 120,00, I am currently listing all of the run of the mill ones by home team on a list for £1 clearance which I have been posting on this site and elsewhere to try to shift some volume.
As I have not previously looked closely at these ones, it's also allowed me to look at every programme and ditch the poor quality ones, find several signed ones and loads of tickets.

Once this mammoth job is complete, I intend to begin to list the big games, internationals, friendlies and old ones on to seperate spreadsheets.

One day everything will be on spreadsheets........one day Rodney

Hi Sharrow,
I think you are doing the best thing to catalogue by using Flickr, I have tried spreadsheets and the like, but I can categorise on Flickr by putting in albums to store in seasons or specific match types.
It’s also quick and easy if I need to check what I do/don’t have.
Certainly my preferred choice

Regards
Gavin

I'm in the process of trying to scan my collection and update my lists at the moment. Its definitely a labour of love but I've set myself a target of doing 50 per day until it's done. Hoping to have a blog and Flikr page ready to go for the start of next season.

Register for an account at www.thefootballarchives.com

Then simply visit the season of a programme and give it a tick and do the rest of that season while you are there. You can also do it on a match-by-match basis.

The database currently contains 729185 matches, of which I have ticked 3283 for my own collection
