OMG, littlewiggy is going to Wembley!Easy

Get Mr Jardine to make the badges, because there is less than nothing collectible there (unless you want to have the Wembley boardroom lanyard, one of which is always listed as an ebay BIN) bar a programme, teamsheet and betting slip

Have the time of you life mate!!

Better go round the newsagents in the morning and buy all the newspapers plus a scrapbook!

Easy Easy

Big Congrats to Newport, completely outplayed us in the first half.

Spurs without any creative spark (Eriksen, Alli, Son and Lamela) and proof we're not a one man team!!! Need to get rid of Sh*toko!

Delighted for Wiggy Easy Well done mate.

I was very concerned there, but somehow we scraped away from a total disaster.

Newport deserve so much credit and a trip to Wembley for the fans, players and club is well deserved.

Easy Easy Easy

I know what you mean, making the 5th round would have been amazing (and they still might)
But chances are a 4th round replay away at Wembley is probably going to be more memorable than say a 5th round game at Wigan, Sheff Utd or wherever they would have drawn anyway (they will see on Monday night!)

As a Spurs fan I have to congratulate Newport for the way they played today. They were so close to winning but I am sure they will look forward to their day at Wembley.

I was out all evening and missed the game live and MOTD, although I heard a short excerpt on the radio. So I knew County were 1 up via 5 Live and then couldn't keep up so it wasn't until long after the game ended that I knew the result.

All that time (3-4 hours?) I feared a Spurs equaliser in the last half hour or so but was keeping everything crossed that County would hang on.

So up pops Harry Kane again to ruin everything.

Sorry Spurs fans and I admire your comments above towards Wiggy, but I so wanted a County win and I was crushed when I saw the final score at about 11. Now - although the trip to Wemberlee will be a great pay-day and an experience for all the travelling faithful - I just hope they aren't humiliated in the replay. Spurs aren't likely to have a day off like today, surely.

Well played County! Steady on the sherbet, Wigster!

Easy Clap

Thanks buddy, and thanks to all the lads for their kind comments.
Predictably, we ran out of steam a tad, after a lung-busting first half, but I'm dead proud of the lads.
A motley crew of ex jailbirds and buggers no sod wanted.

We wanted them, and they kept us up last year.

Really proud of the lads. Just disappointed my local butcher wasn't selling any 'Flaming Flynny' FAC bangers.

I had my mouth all ready for them.

I'm sure that your time will come again Liam.

I'll add my congrats to the list above - well played. Also well played to Rochdale who nearly ruined my day! It took a 90th minute goal to keep us in the competition!

Late to the party but big congrats to Newport County. Totally outplayed us in first half and made us look very, very average.

Great ground, support and the players and managers attitude were spot on. Looking forward to seeing you at Wembley and I just hope that Spurs fans attend to swell the coffers and give you guys the respect you deserve.

I was 8 minutes away from not coming into work Monday

Cheers James, very gracious of you buddy, and I'll try to be equally as gracious when you stick six on us in the replay buddy!

Laughing

I fear we could be in for a spanking on the wide open spaces at a billiard table Wembley, but of course now it's rightly all about the money as you say.

Just don't go putting a baker's dozen on us like you famously did to poor old Crewe that time!

TRIV QUESTION:

Something I was idly thinking about yesterday ... who were the first 4th Division team to play at Wembley in the FA Cup?

It's us isn't it??

I hope it isn't a cricket score as you guys don't deserve that. I would like you to score, albeit when we are 3 or 4 up Very Happy

I do believe you are that team. Well I never and you deserve to be there Clap

Thanks buddy - one quick question, will there be any match badges for sale?

There isn't enough time for County to issue a set for this sadly.

Poch may still rest a few big hitters with games against Arsenal and Liverpool either side! Not a banker by all means!

Yes, I think it is.

Although Crystal Palace have a tenuous similar claim of being a 4th tier club who played at the final venue.

In season 1905/6 (our first ever season of existence) Palace were a Southern League 2nd Division club (so kind of 4th tier), and played 4 FA Cup games at the FA Cup Final venue (the Crystal Palace ground) (as it was our home stadium!)

Admittedly not Wembley though!

Sadly I have a fear it may well be a cricket score Liam. The game at County was fantastic, just a shame they equalised. They'll probably go on to win the Cup.

At least we kept Man City to only two goals when i was expecting 6! Kicking them helps I noticed.

Haha, I saw there were a few meaty challenges Tony.

I also heard the Man City fans singing ... "You're just a shit Newport County" ... which as you can expect went down well over here!

Very Happy

City did look pretty formidable though.
What price them winning everything eh?
And I'm including the Darts and the Eurovision Song Contest in that!

Yes, like you, I fear Spurs will carve us apart on a big, smooth surface at Wembley buddy - history tends to prove you only get one chance at a big upset, doesn't it.

We've thoroughly enjoyed our moment though, and fair play, the lads did us proud.

The magic of the cup still exists for the small clubs.
