Hi all you badge experts..............

I have just come into possession of this badge. It was may fathers who was a club member just after the war.

The makers name: L.Simpson, 56 York Road, Kings Cross

What would you do with the enamel? Can anything be done to repair it?

Totally new area for me...............

Hi

My advice would be to leave well alone.

If you could find someone to repair it then it will IMO always look like it has been "cocked" up as the enamel is up to 80 years old and filling in part of it you cannot produce the same colour, so it will never look anything but a repaired item-so it is a real gem as it is!!!, it has lived and has the scars to prove it and it has survived!

Enjoy it for what it is..... Wave

I must admit that was my feeling Leslie, so thank you for confirming and for your input as always.

Leslie is absolutely right Fishy, leave it in its natural state, warts & all - it's quite beautiful.

A vintage badge that shows it has lived a life, like that stunner, is far more desirable than a "restored" badge mate.

What a fantastic item!

Thumbs Up

Here's one of mine from the same era buddy, its flaws are part of its charm for me ...

Thanks Liam - yours is pretty nice too.

I have another badge from the same era, I'll try and remember to post a pic.
