I thought I would start a thread so dealers taking a stand at the Giant New year fair in London on 7th January 2018 can give some details of what they will be offering.

Organiser Martin Corrie will no doubt soon post a list of all the dealers who will be there but I will kick off with what you can expect to see on the Programme Promotions stand.

I will be offering a huge collection of Charles Buchan’s magazines from the very first issue in September 1951 right through to 1971. There are all in excellent condition and prices start at £2 each.

As I only do two programme fairs a year, my policy is to sell any unsold stock from the previous fair in cheap bundles giving me six months to replenish the boxes with completely different programmes for the next event. Therefore all the stock in boxes on my stand will be completely different to that displayed at the last Premier Fair in June 2017.

This will include over 1,000 'new to stock' 1960's programmes, all in excellent condition available at £2 each, I will have the second part of a huge British clubs in Europe collection available. This comprises at least 1,000 programmes from many different clubs in six boxes and are all priced at £2 each. These include many from recent seasons where the cover prices are sometimes more than double that! A good chance to fill a few gaps at a decent price and eliminate the otherwise considerable postage charge! I will also have hundreds of different Non-League clubs from £1 each,

In addition to the above I will have the usual vast selection of big match finals, internationals etc, plus firsts and lasts, bargain bundles etc...

We will also have all the latest current season big match available plus all the end of last season big match finals etc. NB It is advisable to contact me to reserve any of these you require to pick up on the day to avoid disappointment. Due to the size and weight I can only bring limited quantities of the large size big match issues for display on the stand

EVERY single vintage item on my back boards will be fresh to stock from the previous fair back in June. There are over 200 fresh pre 1955 items making a selection of over 1,000 on my stand in total. All are in excellent condition, NO writing.

Should any forum member like to view any items listed on the www.footballprogrammes.com website then please either email [email protected] or drop me a PM by 5th January with details of what you would like me to bring along and I will be happy to do so.

Finally, may I wish all customers and Forum visitors a very merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous & healthy New year!

I look forward to seeing those of you who are attending the fair at the Royal National hotel on the 7th January 2018.

Here is the full list of dealers at the upcoming GIANT NEW YEAR FAIR on Sunday 7 January.

Once again there are around 60 tables, with many old and rare items, unusual European aways and friendlies from a host of different clubs, plus a great selection from this season. Chris Williams from Sportingold promises another display of ultra rare programmes, plus news of forthcoming auctions. Chris will also be delighted to offer advice about programme values and how much you might expect to get in a future auction sale.

Tom Roe's large stand will have some more fascinating memorabilia - much of which you will never see for sale anywhere else, while around the Galleon Suite there will be a huge selection of bargain books, magazines and the self-explanatory Terry's Badges.

As David Allen explains in more detail above, football programmes.com will have a very impressive display of entirely fresh stock, along with some bargain boxes full of new programmes at unbeatable value.

Look out also for Federico’s free programme stall - a first at any fair as far as we are aware. We were hoping to include this a couple of years ago when, unfortunately, Federico was forced into a last-minute change of plan coming from Italy. We don’t have the precise logistics at the time of writing but there are bound to be surprises in store. It is a reasonable assumption, however, that the first person in the queue will be unable to say "thank you, just put them all in my nice trolley”.

Our many regulars will know that the venue is so easy to find and unless you are planning to stay overnight is all on the flat. It is just over the road from Russell Square Underground station, or if you are coming by car (a good idea if practical as most of the dealers will be pleased to purchase your spare items) you can park right outside for free as there are no restrictions on a Sunday in the vicinity of the Royal National Hotel - which also has a vast underground car park.

After the event, you are just a few minutes away from seeing London’s famed Christmas lights.

Season’s Greetings to everyone on the Forum - and here’s wishing you a very Happy (Giant) New Year!

I'm a regular stall-holder at this fair, you should find my stand on the far wall immediately opposite the entrance to the Galleon Suite at the Royal National Hotel.

As a relatively new dealer of only just over five years standing, I try to cover all aspects of second-hand programme collecting: Big Matches (Internationals, Finals and Semis); A decent range from virtually all League clubs in England and Scotland plus a few from Ireland (although with a slight bias for West Country clubs as I am based in Plymouth); I shall also have a wide range of over 400 English and Scottish Non-League Clubs programmes with me, including v League Clubs in the FA Cup and in Friendlies, (again with a slight bias for West Country Clubs); plus a range of Reserve and Youth team programmes and Teamsheets.

Because I travel widely throughout the country attending Fairs, often buying more programmes than I sell, I am constantly replenishing my stock, so collectors often find something on my stand that they are looking for!

If any collectors wish me to bring any specific items to this Fair, please contact me by email on or (preferably) before Thursday (as I'm going to Burnley on Friday to watch Plymouth Argyle's FA Youth Cup-tie before travelling down to London on the Saturday): [email protected].

NWM Football will be present on Sunday, and as the missus helps me out for the two London biggies, this will mean approaching two car loads of crap rather than just one !

I'm tidying up and tweaking lists as I'm sorting stock today and tomorrow, but these are the links to what I should have available on Sunday.

Should have all of the core Big Match stock from the 1940's onwards with me

http://www.nwmfootball.com/finals-semi-finals/

http://www.nwmfootball.com/international-matches/

http://www.nwmfootball.com/european-competitions/

As well as the folders of pre-1960 Football League and pre-1970 Non League material which come with me to all fairs, I hope to be able to squeeze my boxes of general 1960's League progs with me too.

http://www.nwmfootball.com/classic-corner/pre-1960-football-league/

http://www.nwmfootball.com/non-league/pre-1970-non-league/

http://www.nwmfootball.com/classic-corner/seasons-1960-61-to-69-70/

Will also have plenty of old magazines available, including 'Charles Buchan Football Monthly' stretching as far back as a couple of the 1951 issues, 1960's issues of 'Soccer Star', if you're looking for material from the golden era of the late '60s/early '70s, there'll be plenty of 'Goal', I'll be bringing "new" Football Monthly' and 'Football Weekly News' along, as well as a handful of recently acquired early '70s 'World Soccer', some oddments of 'Marshall Cavendish Football Handbook', plus Shoot and Match up to 1990. Magazine listings can be found here.....

http://www.nwmfootball.com/classic-magazines/

I've also had some joy with these recently. When initially sorting through the magazine collection, I accumulated a bundle which had bits missing or generally weren't fit for resale. Having had them sitting around for a while but not slinging them out, the "lightbulb moment" came a couple of months ago when I decided to make use of my laminator. Not only did I remove the posters, but also advertisements, features and interesting articles were harvested and put through the laminator. They went well enough to suggest that it was worth converting some of the duplicate/excess stock rather than just have the magazines sitting there. So, with A4 posters priced at £1, and A3 sized ones on sale at £3 I give you...

http://www.nwmfootball.com/luscious-laminates/ All are now sorted into club order for player posters and team groups, while the advertisements and articles have been sorted by 'type' or 'subject'.

If you're looking for a quick, inexpensive way to build a collection, there'll be plenty of full sets for you to choose from, plus some great bundles available (I bought some of Steve Earl's excess clearance stock a couple of years) - ideal material to try and encourage younger football fans to start collecting.

http://www.nwmfootball.com/cup-final-special-deals/

Throw in a handful of 2017-18 items, a selection of autobiographies and other books, shirts (including the remainder of the Everton player issue items I acquired last summer, http://www.nwmfootball.com/name-number-please/ ), late 1970's TOPPS cards, DVD's and even a few older items on VHS and other assorted football collectables, and I hope that nwmfootball.com will have something to suit ALL collectors at the Fair.

Please make contact no later than Friday - [email protected] - if there are any items from the general lists not covered here which you need bringing along, or if there are any items you wish to reserve (they will be held until 1pm on Sunday before being returned to stock)

Look forward to seeing you on Sunday,
Lee

As I am unable to make this event due to having to work, can someone or anyone look out for the following programmes please.

20/6/65 Bexley United v Barnet (Southern League)
15/3/66 Crawley Town v Barnet (I believe this is a single sheet)
12/4/67 Wisbech Town v Barnet (EPF)

All 3 are around, but I have never been able to come across them and it's the only 3 I need to complete my Barnet collection. Thanks in advance for looking.
