Is there anywhere a list of all games played that were called Festival of Britain matches?
Programmes seem to come up fairly regularly in auctions and fetch quite high prices. Is this because there are people who collect these programmes as a special topic?
Interested in any views you may have...

There is a 24-page brochure published by the FA which lists the dates of the festival of Britain matches in 1951 and who the matches were between, i used to own one but sold it a couple of years ago, it was not a comprehensive list though as i came across other FOB programmes which were not listed (mostly non-league teams) although i would say it listed about 95% of all the matches. I have seen a couple of them on ebay before but they are quite difficult to find, usually they sell for about £35-50 on ebay and sportingold have sold a couple for around £100,

No info on programmes, but here's a pretty good list of the FoB games, from RSSSF, one of the greatest websites in the entire universe!

http://www.rsssf.com/tablesf/festival-britain51.html

York v Tranmere on 15-May should be York v Transport. I'd be interested in picking up programmes from any of the Dundalk ones.

Bury v Dunfermline on 16/5/51 can be added to the list.

Many Shakers fans gave it a miss too, they got 11,000 on for the Rapid Vienna match and 2,000 for Dunfermline.

Has anybody ever seen a copy of the Waterford programme?

Do you know the result of Bury-Dunfermline oldbolt? I'll get it added to the RSSSF list. Cheers.

I have bothe the Newcastle v stade Rennnais and the Cumberland XL v Newcastle issues although the latter is interestingly positioned as being a Cumberland Cup match which Newcastle competed mid 40s / late 50s on a number of occasions.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who might have other Cumberland cup issues involving Newcastle

Cheers

Only seen this now.

I've never seen a programme for Carlisle v Waterford and believe it is considered a non issue by Carlisle collectors but would not be surprised if one turned up. Rotherham v Waterford was also thought to be a non issue and it appeared last year.

My Fob wants are

Southport v Drumcondra. Oldham v Cork Athletic,
Accrington Stanley v Cork Athletic, Oldham v Bohemians,
Accrington Stanley v Bohemians, Rochdale v Bohemians.
Rochdale v Shamrock Rvs, Carlisle v Waterford , St. Mirren v Distillery,
Dundee v Distillery,Stirling v Distillery.

Interesting update here that I wasn't aware of certainly. A friend was doing some research and discovered that Carlisle were originally due to play Stade Rennais (who did play Blackpool, Huddersfield & Newcastle). Stade pulled out and Waterford were a late replacement.

This may explain why no programme has ever appeared for the Waterford game. Having said that I had Rotherham v Waterford down as a potential non issue until it turned up on ebay 18 months ago.

Still looking for the following
Southport v Drumcondra. Oldham v Cork Athletic,
Accrington Stanley v Cork Athletic, Oldham v Bohemians,
Accrington Stanley v Bohemians, Rochdale v Bohemians.
Rochdale v Shamrock Rvs, Carlisle v Waterford , St. Mirren v Distillery,
Dundee v Distillery,Stirling v Distillery. (several hundred pounds each paid).

What does that go for Holtie, and would be interested in possibly selling it?
