thats not quite true as it takes 2 to make an auction. Somebody may be willing to pay £1000 but if the next bidder is only willing to pay £250 then the price will be dampened. Also it depends on who is on ebay this week. For an unusual item either put it up for a fixed price or put it into one of the auction houses as that is where the big spenders go for their items. There are too many mundance items for the very serious high finance collector to be bothered with sifting through ebay for weeks on end for the occassional gem.
