Lol, not exaggerating either buddy - a 2-1 win against West Ham was the last time we reached R4 in 1979.
Mind you, from 1989 to 2013, we did spend a quarter of a century where reaching the First Round Proper was the Holy Grail!
And we only managed that three times!!
Indeed, for a club that has spent over seven decades as a FL side, I often wonder if anybody has a worse FAC pedigree than us. Only once (1948/9) have we reached R5. |

Spurs. Blimey.
We couldn't beat our rivals sadly, although prob saved circa £150 on tickets, petrol and a hotel for Middlesboro away in the long run |

Yes, a lot of excitement down here with the draw buddy, I guess you could say now that we really are "one game from Wembley!"
lol
Hopefully it'll be a telly game and some decent dosh for us. Spurs played a near full-strength team against Wimbledon, but I'd be surprised if they did here on our bobbly pitch, given that they play Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal & Juventus immediately after. |

Well Wiggy, what can I say??
Great result against Leeds and a great draw for Round 4.
Could you get your groundsman to flatten the bobbly pitch before we get there please |

If Harry does play Wiggy, tell the Newport lads to go easy on the great man. Don't want any injuries before his World Cup preperations get into full swing. . Remember my World Cup Final England 4 v Russia 2 ( Sir Harry Kane ) bet. A two week holiday in Fishguard is riding on this! |

I think we're trying to get last season's pitch back for this one mate, so tell Harry & Dele to bring their wellies.
Cracking draw for us though, and Duncan is already onto getting the match badges ordered.
All 200 badges for Leeds (and all the programmes) were an immediate sell out. |

Lol, I hope you have a Plan B in place pal, say a week in a caravan next to the power station in Rhyl??
All said, I'll be mighty surprised if we see many 'stars' for this one if I'm honest, given the importance of the Spurs fixtures that follow. Got a feeling Harry Steptoe will have his feet up that weekend.

Newport county ran the then Mighty Pompey close in the 1948/49 5th round, Pompey went on to lift the championship that year and should have completed a league and cup double, but we're knocked out of the cup by Leicester in the semi final , at the time Leicester were struggling at the wrong end of Division 2 and on the day Pompey never got going, if you can find it check out a miss by Pompeys second greatest ever player Peter Harris, normally he would have buried that but it was just one of those days i suppose
By the way ,i wasn't there as i wasn't born for another 14 years but if you know your club then you know it's history as I'm sure all of you out there are aware !
So good luck to Newport county in the next round |

Cheers Gaz!
Yes, that 5th Round of '48/9 still remains our finest season in the competition, when we ran the best team in the country so close to an upset.

It's been a quiet year for Crewe badges but with our recent trip to Accrington and our upcoming trip to Mansfield I suddenly have a couple to share.
The added bonus is this Grimsby one from last season that one of my fellow Crewe collectors randomly came across and we were all totally unaware of it... _________________ Crewe Alexandra FC Collector

Martin I can take no credit, it was littlewiggy who discovered the Grimsby badge and was good enough to share on here. |

The pleasure really is all mine, I love seeing these Crewe & Carlisle updates on here. I only hope the future brings more lower-league club supporters to the fold.
A good lad who is an Everton fan messaged me recently, saying how the badge forum had awoken after years of it being dormant, which can only be a good thing.
It's a great tool to pass on tips and info to each other. |

Bloody cheek. Some of us have been ploughing our lonely furrow for years. Not our fault if there is little to report!
I'm still bubbling with excitement to see what this years Stoke badge is like (it's our last away game so still quite a wait), always nice to have a surprise! |
