Here we go again then, another new season already looming largely upon us, and hopefully plenty more nice match badges to collect.

I've just got my first of the new campaign from our mate Brum-Dave, and it's one of those quirky 'matches that never were' ... as our friendly with Eastleigh has been cancelled and replaced with a game at Northampton Town instead.

I quite like oddities like that, and have a few match tickets for games that never took place, cup replays that were never needed etc.

Good luck to my fellow L2 collectors Martin & Kyle, and their respective teams for the season ahead!

Thumbs Up

Confirmation of the teams who are producing badges:
Accrington Stanley been the same design for the last few seasons so I'm guessing something very similar this season.
Mansfield Town been told by a contact that these will be a new design and in the process of been produced. Two badges for each team, one in amber and one in blue.
Wycombe Wanderers a new design once again (see below)
As liam already said, Dave from Brum will also be doing badges, I'm guessing Nadja will once again be doing them again and I suspect the set of 3 for £21.99 or whatever will be popping up at some point.
So here we go again, another cold and wet 9 months of ups, downs, frustration and hopefully joy (and the league title Wink ) at the end of it. Good luck to Liam, Martin and every other football fan on here for the new season.

Cheers for the badge info mate, the Wycombe design looks lovely.
That's definitely one to look forward to.
The Mansfield & Accy issues are always very nice as well.

We've got new teams this year in Coventry, Port Vale, Swindle & Chesterfield. I've no idea if any of those first three clubs produce badges, though I'm guessing not as I've not seen any on eBay for other seasons. I have seen a few Chesterfield though, so maybe / hopefully they do?

Coming into the division via the other route are Lincoln & Forest Gump, who I don't expect any for, certainly Forest Gump have never issued before, although it is their first ever league season so maybe one of their thirty fans might think about doing something. (miaow!) lol

Roll on August and the real business!

Chesterfield never produced anything last season so I'm not getting my hopes up with that one.

I think Chesterfield did badges for one season, didn't date them so they could be used again.

The following season they did the teams that had been promoted and relegated into their league and they haven't been done since.

Cheers Gresty, that would explain the Chesterfield badges I'd seen on eBay the last couple of years then. Thanks mate.

I'm guessing they must have done them for their first season back in Div 3 then (2014/15) because we played them the year before and they didn't issue anything then.

That sounds about right, when I bought a few for fellow collectors I was told the tale.

There was one colour, minimum order of 100 and though some teams they had done well they were sitting on a lot of stock, had done the smart thing for them and not dated them which is why they keep reappearing.

I have ordered my first badges of the season from Dave already (league game, league cup and checkatrade group) - only collecting one of each design though I think. Looking forward to seeing what the season brings! good luck everyone! Cheers, Martin

I assume this is the one you are referring to .... although these are dated with the season....

Superb mate!
How Dave manages to do all five divisions plus cup ties every week is a mystery to me.
The work involved must be astronomical.
He has a lot of 'regulars' too now like ourselves, and really is a Godsend to us fans of the lower leagues.

I've got about 7 or 8 badges waiting for me, just need to replenish my funds now after a few costly purchases of late, otherwise I'll be living on Pot Noodles and council pop.

Very Happy

My first batch from good old Dave ...

Like you Martin, I only collect one for each game, plus the full set for every cup game.

I'm getting the aways in the home club's colours this season, just to mix it up a bit. (I had them in County's away colours [white] last season)

One of the Leeds badges was meant to be white instead of a second black badge.
No worries though, as it was a big game for us, I'll keep both and order another in white from Dave ...

An overdue update for L2, and have got my 'white' Leeds badge from trusty Dave to complete that set. Along with the two official match badges I've also got an unofficial one that was on sale on the night, complete with spelling mistake! I love oddities like that and despite its crude appearance, I'm really taken with it ...

That Leeds one with the spelling mistake will be the rare one in years to come, most people wouldn't bother with it. Out of interest, do you know where the 'official' ones came from, club shop, corporate or do you just refer to them as official because they look more professional than your the others? Just thinking ahead for next time we might play them

I say "official" as they came from the guy that does all their match badges mate. Whether or not he actually is their official badge chap, I don't know, but I can easily find out.

They weren't ready on the night though, only that crude, unofficial one, so they had to be sent.

I'll find out anything you want to know though.
Other than Dave & Nadja, I get all my match badges through Duncan at the club, always have, I've never bought a badge on the day.

The only bright side from this game (lost 3-2 after being 2-1 up going into injury time!) was this lovely badge from Wycombe!
