I see both Bristol clubs were playing home games in the League Cup this evening. Normally expect one to be Tue and the other on Wed.

When was the last time they were both hosting a match at the same time?

As an aside, I see both Norwich City and Norwich United were at home this evening, too.
Though only 102 were in attendance at the latter.

You are right, it never used to happen. Seems like the police are a little more relaxed for lower profile games.

Not sure if it is the last time, but we both played at home on 13th December 2014. Rovers at home to Bath City in the FA Trophy. City played Crawley in League One. Pretty sure both games kicked off at 3.00.
