They're fantastic Pete, Pompey were years ahead of their time in producing something for the ladies.

That was the year you robbed us of an historic place in the Sixth Round of the cup too, you utter blackguards!

Smile

Lucky to have one of the Championship Ties in my collection. From memory I think it cost approximately £50.

One for you Wiggy.....

........a recent acquisition and I only paid £5.75 as a Ebay BIN! There's still bargains around if you look hard enough!! Congratulations on surviving the dreaded drop!!

Fair play, that's easily the nicest club tie I've ever seen, absolutely gorgeous.
They're usually such drab, formal, uninteresting looking things, but not that beaut!

Never seen that programme before, I'm guessing it's a pirate issue?
Cracking find Phil.

Cheers Ade, yes it's a rather basic "pirate" issue published by F Mills and printed by Ben Williams printers (Barnsbury). It's A4 folded in half size with a team line up page, a page dedicated to an article on ticket allocation for the FA Cup Final and FA Amateur Cup Final. The rear page has the half time scores listed.

I thought I knew every Newport programme, so it's nice to discover something new Phil.

Pompey are a special club in my opinion, I've felt that way about them since I first started my 'anorak-like' fascination with football as a nipper.

I can't put my finger on exactly why, but I've always felt a real romanticism associated with Pompey that other clubs don't seem to have.
There's an aura about them and they really should be as huge now, as the were immediately pre & post war.

They must be a wonderful club to collect for, and the way they constantly rollercoast through the divisions can only enhance that.

Sadly, even though in the modern world it appears a must, I do feel if they ever leave Fratton Park for a concrete bowl much of that mystique and aura will be lost.
