On the contrary, Leslie, you highlighting Newcastle's greater success than Man Utd's until 1955 only serves to show how bang average the latter's record (and that of Liverpool's) was in the first half of their existence (although it's still way better than the likes of modern 'giants' Chelski).

I've no problem in admitting your boys have 'shaded' it Wink since then (albeit with the help of some geordies/boyhood toon fans e.g. SBC, Bryan Robson, Brucie, Carrick) Smile

Your lighthearted dig towards Liverpool was what prompted my response as the ManU/l'pool banter always tickles me -there is no clear winner between those two on past record, I'm afraid! Wave

Love all the club banter as well as the programme tips ! And yes bein a glory hunter does cost more money ! I always love to tell how my first game was United v Bristol Rovers in the 2nd Division in 1974....very glamorous !

Having seen some of the prices in this thread, I wonder if any of you guys list any of these programmes in your insurance ? I dont have any individual programme worth more than £50, but I guess my whole collection may add up to several hundreds .

Yes I do have my entire collection insured.

Now approaching around 20,000 different items the Insurer does have a criteria that they require a list of items valued over a certain figure[which narrows it down considerably] and accepts what amount is left over covering probably 85%. This is then verified by a third party who is in the hobby and with whom I trust to give an accurate valuation-without this valuation no insurer will accept cover unless you have documented evidence from say an auction house or details of any private purchases that you have made over the years showing what you paid if large amounts are involved.

Depending on your needs there are specialist insurers around, some companies will happily add to an existing home policy but I have heard that the sum insured is relatively low as they do not understand too much], so a specialist insurer who is familiar with collectibles be it sporting memorabilia to precious metals and fine art may be necessary to obtain the best cover.

If anyone wishes to have some further information on such a specialist insurer then send me an email and I will send you their details.
