Definately the U18 Euros in Moscow.

I have the brochure for Group C which included England; E.Germany; CCCP; Luxembourg.

I also have the programme for the England v Luxembourg match - looking for the other 2 if anyone has them.

Thanks Fishy. So you reckon this is the group A brochure. Is the England group brochure similar ?

Eric, with the 25, 27 and 29 on the cover, which were the dates all group games were played, maybe this was an overall group stage programme ?

It's actually quite different.
My laptop is in for repair, but when I get it back I'll post a pic of the brochure and the programme I have. It may be a couple of days though

Thanks Texas, I was thinking the same. Fishey has a completely different programme for group c. All very confusing. Maybe someone will come onto the forum who can translate !

Can't be 100% sure but have had the England one before and another, one of which was a programme long on the horizontal edge but short vertically. Afraid I can't be any more specific than that as I got it some 30 years ago when I had a pen pal in Moscow who sent me Russian programmes for modern FAC Finals. Rememebr getting some absolute stotters among them including 50s and 60s friendlies vs British clubs.

There is a Russian engineer who works in my group. I'll get his take on it tomorrow ( today is a holiday here).

It looks like the group A programme for the 1984 UEFA U18 championship in the USSR. Scotland and Republic of Ireland were in Group A. I can't put my hands on mine to confirm.

The first pic is the programme for Luxembourg v England and the second is the brochure for group C.

I have a spare brochure if anyone requires it.

Texas Rangers is correct about the dates - the dates on yours are the dates for the Group games. looking at the front of the brochure it seems that the competition ran until 3rd June.

Interesting that they may have printed a brochure for each group....

Hope that the above helps to clarify your item a bit.

Gary.
As ROI we're involved in group A then I'm assuming your issue will be exactly the same as mine.
Perhaps you can confirm when you find it
I can then finally clarify what this issue is at long last.

That will take a while unfortunately as most of my stuff is packed away in Limerick and I live in Dublin. The translation should hopefully confirm it.

These aren't particularly rare and were readily available at the time. Maybe with all the new Russian collectors though they meet sell better.

Ok guys, according to Igor, the large text in the middle of the page says football. Directly above that the two lines of text starting with the same word are the names of two stadiums, the top one is the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow the second line is a stadium in Leningrad. Per the link below, the games held in the stadium in Moscow covered group C- England, Soviet Union, Luxembourg and East Germany and the games played in Leningrad covered group A- Scotland , Republic Of Ireland, Greece and Portugal.

Why there would be a programme issued covering two of the four groups I do not Know,( other than the winners of these two groups were scheduled to play each other and they may have been paired for that reason ). Or maybe the first stadium denoted where the final was to be played, and this is the group A programme ? As usual in these cases there may be more than meets the eye.

Thanks so much Allan for taking the time to help. Maybe if I scan the rest of the programme, Igor can clarify once and for all ??

No problem Eric, I was going to suggest that but didn't want to intrude too much. If you can do that on this thread I'll get his feedback and clarification.
