I thought Hibs, Falkirk, Killie and Aberdeen might have also made good money but it seems like only Rangers and Hearts went really high.

I'm not clear if the bulk of them sold at the minimum bid or went unsold.

That is incorrect. 23 of the lots did not reach their reserve and remained unsold. The Saleroom never indicates unsold items and simply puts sold at where the auctioneer last offered the lot. It was almost exclusively the away clubs' collectors that bought the lots.

10 lots above realised £8800 and with 23 unsold and with reserves reduced for another day they'll fetch a healthy sum.

All very interesting.

Really surprising to see two of the Aberdeen ones didn't sell. As someone else stated it was away fans buying. Think the other programmes left over, and there were more than a few, will have difficulty selling for anything like they'd have got had they chosen a different selling strategy and sold the likes of the Stirling, East Fife, Airdire and St Johnstone ones first off with minimum bids of £250 - £300. They'd probably all have sold. Folk who wanted just one or two - if any of the buyers were Celtic fans - could afford to wait and pick and choose what they wanted once they'd seen the first couple of items not reach their reserve mark.

Having to rely on Salesroom means you have to go with what they say, thanks for clearing it up. Surprised the reserves were set so high.

Minimums on first few programmes were £400. 10% of that, the usual amount they go below a minimum price was £360. When there was no movement up to £380 that's when you know they don't sell.

hi all

there was a total of 46 celtic programmes

17 remain unsold

1 issue was withdrawn , this was a substandard programme that was a lot worse than originally thought!

the vendors are very satisfied with the results

whilst the unsold items are available at reserve price minus 20 pounds
, plus commission
the vendors have instructed me to re offer in august, together with a further 20 issues they have now found

full results will be posted either tomorrow or Monday on my website

I hope this information is helpful

Not got a vested interest as not a Celtic collector, but just a shame that the person it is being sold on behalf didn't 'break up' the lots into a few auctions, several months apart. Just thinking that having it all in one go is probably too much for some collectors, and that spreading it over, say 6 months might mean people bid for more each time. No idea if this actually would make a difference of course

100% correct but maybe this is exactly what has been done and this lot is only the start?. Wave

Not according to the Evening Times article mate.

really? well according to the Auctioner the vendors "have found another 20" that will now be offered at the next sale.
