I thought I would start a thread where dealers exhibiting at the Giant New year fair in London on 8th January 2017 can give some details of what they will be offering.

Organiser Martin Corrie will no doubt soon post a list of all the dealers who will be there but I will kick off with what you can expect to see on the Programme Promotions stand.

I will be breaking up a large fresh collection of European Competition programmes. There are at least 1,000 programmes from many different clubs in seven boxes and are all priced at £2 each. These include many from recent seasons where the cover prices are sometimes double that! A good chance to fill a few gaps at a decent price and eliminate the otherwise considerable postage charge!

As I only do two programme fairs a year, my policy is to sell any unsold stock from the previous fair in cheap bundles giving me six months to replenish the boxes with completely different programmes for the next event. Therefore all the stock in boxes on my stand will be completely different to that displayed at the last Premier Fair in June 2016.

This will include over 1,000 'new to stock' 1960's programmes, all in excellent condition available at £2 each, hundreds of different Non-League clubs from £1 each, In addition to the above I will have the usual vast selection of big match finals, internationals etc, plus firsts and lasts, Charles Buchan magazines, bargain bundles etc...

We will also have all the current season big match available including the FIFA Club World Cup Japan plus all the end of last season big match finals etc. NB It is advisable to contact me to reserve any of these you require to pick up on the day to avoid disappointment. Due to the size and weight I can only bring limited quantities for display on the stand

EVERY single vintage item on my back boards will be fresh to stock from the previous fair back in June. There are over 200 fresh pre 1955 items making a selection of over 800 on my stand in total. All are in excellent condition, NO writing.

Should any forum member like to view any items listed on the www.footballprogrammes.com website then please either email [email protected] or drop me a PM with details of what you would like me to bring along and I will be happy to do so.

Finally, may I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous & healthy New year! I look forward to seeing those of you who are attending the fair at the Royal National hotel on the 8th January 2017.

Full list of dealers announced shortly. We have just one vacancy, plus a small space for a NON-programme dealer. Let me know asap if interested.

A really good cross-section of exhibitors will include Elmo Books, David Allen of football programmes.com, John Dee and Michael Hewitt.

Here's wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and a great New Year

I am one of the less well-established dealers taking a stand at the New Year Fair at the Royal National Hotel.
I try to cover all aspects of second-hand programme collecting: Big Matches (Internationals, Finals and Semis); A decent range from virtually all League clubs in England and Scotland plus a few from Ireland (although with a slight bias for West Country clubs as I am based in Plymouth); I shall also have a wide range of over 400 English and Scottish Non-League Clubs programmes with me, including v League Clubs in the FA Cup and in Friendlies, (again with a slight bias for West Country Clubs); plus a range of Reserve and Youth team programmes and Teamsheets.
Because I travel widely throughout the country attending Fairs, often buying more programmes than I sell, I am constantly replenishing my stock, so collectors often find something on my stand that they are looking for!
If any collectors wish me to bring any specific items to this Fair, please contact me by email on or (preferably) before Friday January 6: [email protected].
Happy New Year to all Forum members!

Hi all,

BARRY DIXEY will be stalling out at the New Year Fair and will be assisted by Phil Sharrad (specialises in Football cards) and the co-organiser of the West London Programme Fair Mark Barnes.

Be sure to come along and see us and pick up a flyer for our WEST LONDON and NORTH LONDON fair dates later in the year. These dates can also be found in the programme for the NEW YEAR fair.

As space is limited please give me a call if you wish me to bring anything specific. I have some great Dulwich Hamlet / Corinthian Casuals posters from the 1960's against a variety of non league sides (now £10 each) let me know if you want to reserve any with fixtures against your non-league side.

Good luck to Martin Corrie for a successful New Year Fair.

Hi,
I will be one of the stall holders at the Giant New Year Fair this coming Sunday the 8th January.
Space dictates that I cannot bring along my entire stock so please visit my website www.football-program.co.uk and let me know if there is anything specific you need to me to bring along.

Cheers
Martin

Well, thankfully the cold that knocked the sh*t out of me at the start of the week and put me in bed for 48 hours seems to be buggering off !!! Not done the New Year Fair from the dealers' side of the fence, so very much looking forward to seeing how this goes.

As always, will have the comprehensive Big Match stock which comes with me to every fair available. Issues from EVERY post war F.A. Cup Final including replays are in stock, ranging from £3 for the early 1980's examples to £150 for 1946. (Also have a 1945 War South Final too). League Cup Finals include a number of pre-Wembley issues - if you fancy a potential bargain, I can offer a Rotherham v. Aston Villa from 1961. The copy I have has been punch-holed, but fortunately it only takes out white paper and could easily be plugged. £150 is the asking price for this one. Charity Shield's from the 1950's onwards, F.A. & League Cup semi-finals, Scottish Finals, F.A. Amateur Cup, Trophy & Vase Finals/semi's will also be available. European Competition issues featuring British Clubs, and International programmes will also be on the stall. Have got one particularly unusual England away programme which I've never seen anywhere in stock at present too, namely against Mexico played in Los Angeles a couple of weeks before the 1986 World Cup Finals. (I think this was the game when Lineker broke his wrist). £50 gets you this gem.

Plenty of pre-1960 Football League & pre-1970 Non-League items will be available too. Oldest item I can currently offer is Aston Villa v. Sheffield United from December 1909. (I also have a Villa v. Burnley prog from October 1914 which makes interesting reading from a social history point of view. Unlike the 1939-40 schedule which was instantly abandoned on the outbreak of war, Season 1914-15 was played in full, and the programme includes a couple of fascinating paragraphs on whether or not it was appropriate to continue with football while men were starting to be sent to the Western Front). Naturally, issues from London clubs make up a large part of my older stock, with Arsenal, Brentford, Fulham and Tottenham issues dating back to the 1930's and Chelsea items back to the 1920's being available, while there are late 1940's items featuring Orient, Millwall, QPR and Charlton in stock http://www.nwmfootball.com/classic-corner/pre-1960-football-league/ gives the full list of what's on offer and http://www.nwmfootball.com/non-league/pre-1970-non-league/ details what's in the non-league folders.

There will be plenty of material from the Classic Magazines stock available. More importantly, the comprehensive list detailing the main picture content will be available to browse, and this is proving VERY popular with collectors who are specifically looking for posters of their favourite teams/players from 40 to 50 years ago. http://www.nwmfootball.com/classic-magazines/ takes you to the listings on the website. Charles Buchan, Soccer Star, Goal, Football Weekly News, and Shoot (to the end of 1976) will be with me on Sunday (please keep these in order should you look at them at the Fair !!!), while there will also be a crate of assorted Shoot/Match from the 1980's (which are duplicates from the main stock which I have still to work through) if you fancy a good rummage !

There'll also be plenty of good quality football shirts on the stall as usual too. There won't be anywhere else in London on Sunday where you'll find as diverse a range of sportswear from Cowdenbeath to Orland Pirates via Coventry City, AC Milan, Ebbsfleet United, Livingston, Valencia, Gillingham and Borussia Dortmund. Shirts are priced at £12 each (two for £20/five for £40), and with the exception of items which are new/in original packaging are washed and re-bagged - indeed, presented in the condition which I know would appeal to me if I were looking for shirts for myself !

If there is one DVD I would recommend to ANY football fan, then it has to be the brilliant "I Believe In Miracles" which is the documentary style film about Nottingham Forest's rise from the middle of Division 2 to double European Champions. The film was only shown in cinemas in the East Midlands towards the end of 2015, and includes interviews and anecdotes from the likes of Ian Bowyer, Peter Shilton, John McGovern, Trevor Francis, Colin Barrett, Tony Woodcock, Larry Lloyd, Kenny Burns, Garry Birtles. Larry Lloyd tells the story of when he signed for Forest - Clough asked him if he had everything he needed at home, to which he replied that his washing machine had packed up. Later that afternoon, Lloyd is sitting at home, and a couple of gents roll up with a washing machine. Next morning, Lloyd turns up for his first day's training at the City Ground, and two old dears come and find him. "Are you that Larry Lloyd ?" they ask. "Yes" he innocently replies. "You've nicked our washing machine !!!". Kenny Burns also recalls Clough's simple philosophy on free kicks around the opposition box. "Just shoot !". So Burns asks about indirect free-kicks - "F*ckin' knock it to the bloke next to you and get him to shoot !" comes the straight forward reply ! Anyway, I'm pleased to advise that I have copy of this gem in stock. There'll be plenty of other DVD's around too (including a boxed set of the 1980's F.A. Cup Finals).

If books are your thing, there'll be a good selection of autobiographies, histories, annuals and handbooks for you to choose from, including some signed autobiographies from the likes of Trevor Brooking, Paul Merson, Glenn Hoddle, Terry Butcher, Bob Wilson, Eddie Gray, Nobby Stiles, Jimmy Greaves and Bryan Robson. There is also a 1978 Ipswich Annual with nine autographs on it (including seven from those who played in the 1978 F.A. Cup Final).

TOPPS cards from 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 will be available at 50p each (20% discount on purchases of 50 or more cards), 'complete season sets' and some cup final deal bundles will be available, while there are also sound recording LP's from some 1970's F.A. Cup Finals (all of which I have played, all in excellent condition).....and as it's F.A. Cup 3rd round weekend, there'll be a couple of old "Wembley" board games available too !!!

Hope that's not bored you too much, and maybe whetted your appetite - see you on Sunday.

All the best,
Lee
