Team coach was James Stoffberg from South Africa, 3 players from South Africa Russian origin began to play for Russia.

The season began with matches of the European Nations Cup. Russia lost only Romania by drawing a draw in Georgia taking 3rd place.

This is the match program with Spain.

In May Russia won the World Cup qualifier 3 round with the Czech Republic and then flew to Japan for a test match.

Russia defeated Holland 65 - 3 and continued the fight in the third round of qualification.

After losing Ireland in Krasnoyarsk 3 - 35 and Georgia in Tbilisi Georgia 13 - 17 Russia met in the play-offs against Spain.

This is the match program with Ireland.

Russia won 36-3 in Spain but Spain filed a protest and because of the players from South Africa who were not eligible to play Russia was disqualified.

The return match with Spain in Krasnodar did not solve anything. Russia lost 22-38, but Spain went further.

Russia again did not make it to the World Cup.

Rugby contacts with South Africa resulted in a tour of the team from South Africa in Russia.

"Naka Bulls" played in Siberia with "Yenisei" and "Krasny Yar", as well as with the junior team of Krasnoyarsk.

This is a three-match program.

And so the program ""Krasny Yar"" from the Russian Championship 2002 lookеd .

Our teams also went to matches abroad.

These are programs of several games and tournaments.
This is the team's program from Novokuznetsk. The team exists and now, 5 place in the Championship of this year.

And this team is not at the moment. After the collapse of the USSR, the team moved from Uzbekistan to Russia, the city of Kaliningrad.
Then she played in the Russian Championship.

This is a program from Baku, Azerbaijan.

The team from "Moscow Dragons" took part in the tournament. The team was created in 1997 by foreigners living in Moscow.

This program "Slava" from Italy.

In the spring of 2003 Russia started in the European Nations Cup. Revenge Spain by Madrid 52-19, but then lost to Georgia, Romania and Portugal.

This is the program of matches with Georgia and Portugal.

And then flew to Japan and spent one of the best matches in the history of defeating 43 - 34 in the Superpowers Cup.

In July Russia defeated the USA XV 30 - 21 and won the cup.
The match program was released, but I do not have it.

And this is the program of the European Nations Cup from the Czech Republic.

In 2004 February Russia started playing in the European Nations Cup. Victory over Spain, Romania, Czech Republic and the loss of Georgia and Portugal.

This is a program of games with the Czech Republic and Romania.

And in May Russia again took part in the tournament in Japan.
lost to Japan and the US and took the last place.

And so the programs from Krasnoyarsk looked like. The covers were the same for all matches. Sheet A4 folded in half.

I will be brief. Im a fan of "Slava" Moscow and wanted to tell a little about my club.

Here is written in sufficient detail. In the 90s the club almost ceased to exist playing for the championship of Moscow.
But the team was able to reborn.

http://www.rugbyarchive.net/Pagine/Squadre.aspx?ID=4326

The team was established at the factory for the manufacture of watches "Slava".

Anyone can buy this watch and become a part of our club.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Wristwatches/31387/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Slava

Unfortunately the club did not print the program and the first home in my collection was made in 2005 against "Yenisei".

This year I started to print the programs of matches for my own money. They are distributed to the match for free.

Thats how they look.

In the season of 2018 I want to continue.

In general in the late 80s contacts of the USSR Rugby Federation with leading rugby countries were at a high level.

In addition to the tours of the USSR national team in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the foreign tour went and the USSR team B.

Also in 1989 a visit was made to Scotland by Soviet Students.

In the program the word "rugby" in Russian is written with an error!

Not "рэгби", but "регби".Cool

These are several programs matches student from the USSR.

In 2005 Russia again played poorly.
After losing to Romania, Czech Republic and the home of Portugal in the European Cup.
This is a match program with Portugal.

Russia was able to win only the Czech Republic and Ukraine at home.

In autumn team from Australia flew to Russia. Russia lost 18-47.

These are programs from the Krasnoyarsk season 2005.
Programs of matches were printed only there.

In the spring of 2006 Russia took the 4 place in the European Nations Cup.

They lost to Georgia, played a draw with Portugal and defeated Ukraine and Romania.

This is a program from Georgia and a program of a match with Romania from Krasnoyarsk.

And in autumn Russia participated in the qualifying for the World Championship.

In the fourth round, Russia twice defeated Ukraine, and in the fifth they lost to Italy and Portugal and did not go to the World Championship again ...

Love this thread! Do you think Russia will print programmes for the games in 2018?

Im glad that this topic is interesting to someone other than me! Very Happy

The release of programs depends on the venue of the match.
In Sochi programs are issued very rarely, but in Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar programs are always printed.

February 10 Russia is playing against Spain in Krasnodar, I think the program will be printed.

In 2007 the worlds strongest teams were preparing for the World Cup and Russia kicked off in the European Nations Cup.
The tournament of 2007-08 turned out to be successful for the Russian national team.
It took 2nd place after Georgia.
Russia twice defeated Romania, Spain, Portugal and the Czech Republic. We lost only Georgia twice too.

In the summer of 2007 a team of English counties XV arrived in Russia.

In Moscow the English team won 23-21 at the Russian national team, while in Krasnoyarsk they defeated the team of Krasnoyarsk 27-19.

This is a match program in Krasnoyarsk.

Thankyou Vova for your continuing fascinating information on the Russian Rugby League scene and programmes.
Perhaps Leeds Rhinos may eventually send a team to Russia for a friendly although the vast playing programme Super League clubs have at present will prevent this.
Cheers.
