Ever since I was at school, I wanted to be an author.
At the end of this month my first book will be published as a paperback and ebook - Enjoy the Highs, Survive the Lows - A fifty year love affair with football.
I'm still pinching myself and cannot wait to hold a copy or see it in WH Smiths and the like.
I have tried to give it a light hearted thread and wanted it to feel like having a chat with the reader, but also cover the serious points of our game like the demise of the FA Cup, England's consistent failure at tournaments, the money that threatens to ruin football and the state of Youth football (backed up with my 17 years as a manager at that level,)
I reflect on the great players, managers and teams that I have been fortunate enough to have seen and will probably upset a few people with my comments on teams that are not Tottenham, but hey ho!
An added bonus for me was that I managed to get Steve Perryman to write the foreword for me and had several conversations with him in the process. To have one of my heroes talking to me about MY book was such an honour.
Time will tell if I am the next JK Rowling or (more likely) the next JR Hartley, but this was never about profit and always about the accomplishment.

Great achievement Paul, you must be 'over the moon'!

When it's released, if you would like to DM me a link I'll feature it on my Twitter feed, I have almost five and a half thousand followers now including a fair few Spurs so may well help sell a few - Unless of course Leeds United are slated in your book in which case don't bother! Laughing

Tremendous news for you Thumbs Up

Superb, well done on meeting that challenge and getting published -

I keep getting told to do a book about my 20 years taking photos for Rochdale but always have an excuse not to. Maybe I ought to get of my arse.

Fantastic stuff mate. So pleased for you.

Please let me know when it is out and I will be ordering a copy for myself and I'll promote you on my twitter feed too. Only have 500 followers but there are a lot of Spurs fans on there.

Added pressure to for the Predictor Week

Not only an all Spurs clash but I am also up against an international author!!!!

Easy Thumbs Up Ayatollah Bow

Yes, well done Paul - let me know also when it's out as I'll get a copy for my bro who's always had a crush on Spurs (double winners and went to the 1962 cup final). But he's still Palace!

I'll also mention it on my Twitter a/c.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Also huge thanks to Ruud, James and Pete who have offered to share on their twitter sites. I really appreciate that.
Ruud - I haven't slated Leeds. I have expressed dismay at what has been allowed to happen at your club.
James - You will be pleased to know that I had to do a small rewrite to avoid potential libel issues over comments about an ex Spur who left to go down the road, but still managed to get the word Judas in. Good luck in our battle of North London in the Predictor League this week.

Well played Paul, I'm sure it'll be a great success mate.

My lifelong ambition was to bed Linda Lusardi, I'm starting to think it might not happen now though.

I used to live a few streets away from her in Herts. Never saw her, but kept bumping into Gazza instead who lived in the same street!
