This link shows the Spurs and Wolves teams in the 1921 FA Cup Final. The team colours don't match those in the pictures you have. _________________ Not Forgotten; Allwright, Greechan, Hagan, Kennedy, Littler, Purver, Robotham, Saunders, Shields |

Chelsea 0-4 Tottenham Hotspur. King George V meets wounded #WW1 veterans at Stamford Bridge on 16 October 1920. #Spurs won the Division One match thanks to goals from Charlie Wilson (2), Bert Bliss and Jimmy Dimmock. |
So, Chelsea v Tottenham on October 16 1920.
If the pictures are all from the same game?!
Hope the above helps?! _________________ Not Forgotten; Allwright, Greechan, Hagan, Kennedy, Littler, Purver, Robotham, Saunders, Shields |

They came with a programme related to the 1920 Chelsea V Spurs league game attended by the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York but makes no mention of the king.
Posted the above in relation to your first reply. Now I've seen your second it corresponds. |

I doubt they would've made an announcement that King George V would be coming. See the film clip above. It seems he went to matches unannounced.

I have the silk programme that was issued for the Chelsea v Tottenham 16th October 1920 which states on the front cover that it was attended by the Prince of Wales (later to become Edward 7th) and the Duke of York (later to become George 5th). I have tried to upload the picture so far without success. So the answer is he sent his 2 sons to the match. |

I've looked through the newspaper archives, all that is reported is that the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York were present. As said above, maybe the reporting and mentioning of the King attending the match was blocked?

Nice historical items though.
A quick 'touch up' and they look pretty good!

Thinking of listing them but first wanted to make sure it was from the right game. |

The photos definitely look like they are from the FA Cup match at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea 3 Leicester 0, on 21 Feb 1920.
In the pre-match 'presentation' photo are Harry Halse (shaking the king's hand) and Jimmy Croal (with the bald head). Neither of those two played in the Oct 1920 Tottenham game mentioned previously.
Great photos, by the way. |
