Scanning for my next update which will be on my new all-singing & dancing website around end July. I've not got far in the scanning process though - this one is at St Andrews Birmingham and it has no details on the back. A Blues player receives treatment in the visitors' penalty area as the away defence stand watching the action.

So my question is - who are the away team? Presumably in red and white. Probably late 50's/early 60's as the Birmingham player's shirt has a large badge on his chest which they sported until 1961/2 (and with a round neck as opposed to a collar in 61/2 which this could be).

Can anyone help please? Does anyone recognise no's 3, 4, 5 and the keeper? They are definitely NOT Birmingham players.

Leicester had those stripes around their socks in their home kit in 61/62, but I can't find anything to show their away kit for that season and I'm guessing that Gordon Banks would been in goal?

Bristol City 62/63?

Were they in the same division as Birmingham?

Thank you all. And well done to Don Quixote....

It's Birmingham v WBA, 1960-1, and the players are:-

3 Stuart Williams
4 Bobby Robson
5 Stan Jones
GK Jock Wallace

An old friend of ours kindly supplied the information.

Thumbs Up

Of course it's Bobby Robson...tsk....I checked Potter and Millington but didn't bother with Wallace thinking he could never have been that thin!

I guessed it wasn't a cup game...kit was too clean for the FA Cup and far too many there for an early season League Cup tie, plus none of them looked like they played for Espanyol!

What did you think about my other guess two posts down?

Edit
Just seen that you say it's 60-1 not 61-2....which takes Espanyol out of the equation then...tried checking dates (clean kit is often a give away) on statto.com but that seems to have gone belly up...anyone know what's gone wrong there?
