A professional auction house. I bet they don't keep stock in an old damp smelly garage. Sad

some nice items, what put me off is the cost of packing and despatch, it can make won lots very expensive. Sadly too far to travel and attend the auction.

Decided before i just wanted to promote my auction and not respond to anything but "Posh" makes a good point. Nearly every auction company is too expensive for charges with regard to posting. Staceys use Jentel Packing who are a full time profit making company but in the customer friendly catalogue it states if you are not happy with anything including postage quotes plan b is call Football Wanted after the auction who will do it at cost although not as quickly and as professionally as Jentel i will add. There is also an option to pick up in the North two weeks after the auction.
Football Wanted are changing customers perceptions of auctions and are unlike any other auction company.

I second their comment on postage. I bought a single programme and Jentels wanted something like £13 to post it. So I contacted Dave Alexander and he posted it at cost. Much quicker than he seems to give himself credit for. I certainly will be attending on Monday!

I can't get there on Monday but wish I could as there are some fantastic press photos there - out of my league to buy but I'd love a peek.

See lots 575-580 and 746 !!

At the risk of being somewhat pedantic, Essex doesn't appear too far north up here in Scotland? Shocked

Although I've not met Dave personally I have spoken to him on the phone where he was very helpful and came across as a very genuine guy. I was always going to bid on several items at his auction but feel even more reassured regarding postal costs now he has stated his intentions here.

Just remembered to have a look at the realised prices on the 6 Man Utd photo lots at this auction.

6 lots - 96 MUFC press photos mainly late 40's with a few early 50's - total sales value £5700 - about £60 each (+ commission)!
