No longer needed in the premiership due to the vast fortunes the players make plus not many stay at one club for 10 years.

I went to a few way back for my own club Manchester City and some of the programmes were good quality.

Does anyone else collect testimonial/Benefit matches? Here's a few of mine.

Five Testimonial programmes from Brentford over the years. I have them all post 1945.

Only Derby county ones.
We will have a new one in a few weeks when Shaun Barker has one.

Blackpool's earliest home testimonial match was not until 1969 when they entertained Stoke City for the great Stanley Mortensen.

An 8 page programme was produced but I am still looking for the brochure which has so far eluded me for nearly 47 years. Shocked

Blackpool's earliest involvement in a post war away testimonial was for a game against Reading in April 1952.

The fixture was a benefit match for 4 players, Maurice Edelston, Leslie Henley, Ronald Moyse and Ronald Blackman.

The programme was an 8 page issue.

Blackpool won 4-2 with goals from Taylor, Withers, Fenton and Johnson. Edelston replied with 2 for Reading.

This is the first Testimonial game I ever attended.
County beating Manchester City 1-0 with a late Tommy Tynan goal in March 1982, in the Len Ashurst Testimonial.
Terry Paine guested for the County, Bobby Charlton was supposed to as well but never turned up.
We also wore a one-off striped kit for it ...

(The blue ticket was mine, never usually went in the stand but did that night because of monsoon-like rain)

Only Millwall issues or programmes where Lions players are listed.

If you have any with Lions players listed, I could be interested.

Funny, isn't it.

During the era of "The Ram" newspaper, all the testimonial games had "regular" programmes issued!

And then Steve Powell's testimonial programme was a newspaper at the time the club were issuing a "regular" programme...

I have all Spurs players and Spurs related in my collection, but the one I am sharing I picked up a few weeks ago in a small lot that I bought.

Bert Head Testimonial 26/4/47
Torquay United v RFC Malinois (now known as KV Mechelen)
The Belgians won 3-1.

Fantastic Five & In - is it for sale??? Love

There are still some testimonials in the Prem, only last summer Palace played Dundee for the wonderful Julian Speroni's tribute match - all proceeds to charity - Dundee were his first and only other British club and he's been at Palace since summer 2004. Most of the cover shows here

Could be Pete. I haven't really thought about it, but has no sentimental value. Unsure of where to put a price on it though and no sign of it on Ebay.
The signature is pre printed by the way.
I forgot that he went on to manage your lot.

Man City must like doing Testimonials.

This one was for Andy Davidson, a very long serving full back, 21 years, 3 broken legs and a serious knee injury.

The second, centre forward Chris Chilton's is against Leeds and is memorable for many things, over 28,000, no off side, 7-6 final score, our keeper, McKechnie, scoring as an outfield player and the match finishing five minutes early as news came in that Arsenal had just beaten Spurs and pipped U for the title. A great night all round!

Sadly nothing very old in my collection. Oldest is a Peterborough United v Sunderland from 1959-60, which was a triple benefit for Billy Hails, Peter McNamee and Cliff Sansby.

My oldest home is Sunderland v International XI for Stan Anderson in 1963-64
