For those of us following teams in the bottom 2 divisions, or perhaps non-league, last night was a highlight of the season being the draw for the FA Cup 1st Rd.

This is the first time in a number of seasons that Blackpool have entered at this stage and still the bad luck continues in rarely getting a home tie.

In our 8 seasons out of the bottom 2 divisions we were drawn at home just once in the 3rd Rd. And our record of home ties before that is pretty sparse.

Still, the plus point this time around is a new ground to visit.

Anyone else happy or unhappy with the draw for their team?

Living in Cheshire and being a Pompey supporter I forecast to the wife "Macclesfield v Portsmouth".

Only half right - it came out as "Portsmouth v Macclesfield" Smile

Personally, would have liked an away tie at somewhere the mini's and me haven't been. before the draw the lads said Newport would have been nice Razz

Not sure what to make of Worcester City at home, banana skin time, wouldn't have been so bad away, I like Worcester, but then its become a day out more than anything else recently Laughing

Happy with Grimsby vs St Albans, a nice chance to progress through to the 2nd round again - touch wood.

for Chesterfield this is our 9th away draw on the trot, would be nice to get a home draw.
However FC United of Manchester will be a new ground, if I can get a ticket.

I was gutted as my son plays in goal for Hoddesdon Town and got knocked out a round ago when they were the lowest ranked team still in the competition. Still got the Vase to go for though, starting this weekend.

Was hoping for Portsmouth away if we were to beat Cheltenham in the replay, would have been our best chance of a win, lol

Home draws for Newport County in domestic cups are somewhat spotty too Benno.

Getting Brackley Town away this time out was our 10th successive away draw in FA & League Cups.

We could really do with the £67k "Live Game" fee right now, but have no chance.
You just know both the Beeb and BT Sports will be falling over themselves to show both the Salford and FC United games.

If it weren't for bad luck, my lads would have no luck whatsoever.

Although I follow Leicester City I'm always interested in any local teams in the draw and the only one left in it is Barwell they get to play either Grays Athletic or Welling providing they beat AFC Rushden & Diamonds this evening in a replay

Home to Swindon for Dale, positives at home, negatives against a League 1 club - disappointed with the draw

Got to feel sorry for Carlisle...

They have been great away from home this season...only got walloped once...4-1 at...oh....Plymouth

Imagine the joy if we end up with a replay...

Didcot Town away would concern me if I were an Exeter fan - especially given what happened at Warrington a year or two back.

Would have thought that was the stand-out tie for "live" coverage....but I forgot about the two Old Trafford spin-off clubs!

Well done the Beeb and BT Sports, you've surpassed yourself with your impartiality this year.

For two weekends in a whole year, yep just two, the little clubs get the chance of national spotlight and a cash windfall.
Yet these two organisations have still somehow managed to make two of the three live spots available to said hopeful minnows all about Man United.

More proof if ever it were needed that Football doesn't apparently exist outside of the Premiership.

I was "fortunate?" to have been born within a mishit shot from White Hart Lane, so followed my local team.
I like to think that had I been born close to a lesser club that I would have been equally committed to the cause.
I have lived close to Barnet, Walsall and now Torquay and Exeter and became interested in these teams, but you are so right Wiggy, most TV and even fans are blinkered to the Premiership.
The class of 92 involvement in non league is admirable, but the circus that goes with it is not.

The BBC preamble to last night's match failed to mention one single Salford player until they had to show the lineups.

Its usually on a Monday evening these days.

But there is little interest until the 3rd Round when the big boys and Ipswich Town are in the draw.

its very true I am afraid.

Will I be watching tonite's 2nd Round draw ? No probably not, but I may glance through the draw details on the internet in about a weeks time.

Will I be watching the 3rd Round draw ? Yes because all of the big clubs and my club Ipswich Town will be involved.
Will it be a home draw, or an away draw ?
Will we be drawn at home or away against a Premier League giant ?
Will we be drawn against non-league minnows or lower league opposition ?
Which big clubs will be drawn together ?

Lots of interest in the 3rd Round draw, as opposed to the 2nd Round draw.
