Anyone have any idea of what the date is for the fair?

PM this month advises that its Saturday June 7th... But this is a Monday?? So i assume its Saturday the 5th?

Thanks

What kind of stuff do you find at these fairs? Is it likely to be all expensive hard to find stuff or run of the mill league stuff that dealers want to shift on or a mixture of both? How many dealers are there? And has anyone ever been to one and found something good?

I don't tend to have too much success and sometimes find that I have to pay inflated prices for programmes in order to justify the train fair from South Wales.
I guess it depends on how mature your collection is and whether your clubs programmes are easily obtainable.

Even at £700 that could be classed as a 'bargain'

I've only ever seen 2 up for sale before.

One went for £1200 and the other nearly £2000!!!

There tends to be in excess of a dozen dealers including John Dee, Ian Hands, David Simon, Dick Rattray, Alan Benedick, Tony Coombes to name abut a few.
Along with a few very strange looking collectors!

I priced it to sell on the day and I even allowed for a bit of bartering down from Andy. Whats the point of having something like that on your back board if your not prepared to sell on the day.
I knew how popular it was but was also realistic with current buying trends.
I'm not one of the strange looking ones b.t.w.

I've only been to the Giant New Year Programme Fair once and i was like a kid in a sweet shop. I love looking at those old programmes but sad to say they are way out of my pocket money range so not much point in me going along anymore.

I'll have a look at Sheffield again on the 29th, but to be honest the Lincoln fair had just as much stuff there in a much bigger room without the pushing and shoving.
