Morning all, rules similar to last year, apart from a couple of differences.
With the League growing to 44 this year, which is good, but it has caused a headache in the fixtures. I'm also mindful that people do lose interest sometimes if they are rock bottom so here goes:
1. As last season, there will be two leagues split geographically as near as possible. A Northern Conference and a Southern Conference
2. Everyone will play each other once only, in their conference. That's 21 games. That will take us to the end of December.
At this point, the bottom 4 teams in each conference will be relegated from the competition.
The remaining 36 teams will then play 11 further fixtures which is dependant on their ranking. (1-12,13-26,27-36)
3. Play offs. After 32 Rounds, the top 13 (26 teams) in each conference will battle it out in the play offs. As last season, this hopefully keeps the interest going. (A team who finish 13th can win the entire competition but its a hard ask to win 6 consecutive games in the play offs, Conference winners have to win just 2)
Conference winners qualify automatically for the Conference Final.
Play offs consist of 6 rounds.
Round 1 - Teams Ranked 6th-13th
Round 2 - Winners of Round 1 v Teams Ranked 2-5th
Round 3 - Winners of Round 2 (highest ranked v Lower)
Round 4 - Conference Semi Finals (Winners Round 3)
Round 5 - Conference Final: 1st v (winner of Round 4 )
Round 6 - Grand Final
4. If an entrant does not enter scores for two consecutive weeks, they will receive a reminder. 3 consecutive weeks of inactivity will result in expulsion.
5. In January a cup competition will begin on the cup dates. We will be inviting other forum members to paticipate as previously
6. Fixtures to be predicted and the head to heads for each forthcoming round to be notified on the Sunday/Monday night beforehand. It is the entrants responsibility to make sure he/she gets his scores in on time.
7. Scores must be in before Mid-day Saturday. Any score received after this time off won't count. this includes sunday's results as well.
I have decided to make it mid-day Saturday, as fixture times are forever changing. If everyone knows it is mid-day saturday every week there can be no complaints, especially when everyone has had all week to predict.
7. Fixtures to be predicted will consist of Premier to league 2. This season we have made a Scottish fixture compulsory. There will be some National League and the odd foreign fixture (El Classico) thrown in.
There will be the odd international weekend too
8. There will be only 10 fixtures to predict each weekend.
9. Correct score: 3 pts
Right result: 1 pt
Joker selection to be made in bold counts double
10. Each match is a head to head against each other.
3 pts for a win. 1 pt for a draw
10a: The weekly top scorer will receive 2 bonus points. In case of a tie each winner will receive 1 bonus point.
11. League tables to appear every sunday/Monday night.
12. Entrants have the right to appeal over their alloted score if they believe it to be wrong.
