Hello Everyone,

I just thought i should say hello as I've recently come to own 300+ football programmes and have been searching the web for info on them, this seems to be the place! Bow

Packs of football badges too but i don't know if this is the place for them. To be honest the badges are a lot more appealing for me to keep.

The thing is that i don't collect programmes so I really don't know if what i have is any good. They are all in mint mint condition though, and some are shillings and half penny priced.

A lot of Reading, Aldershott, Arsenal etc from the 70s and also probably 50+ non-league programmes. I support the blues and have done since i was a lad so the rest of these i'm looking to sell.

So expect to see me popping up posting questions in the future Very Happy

Welcome Collectorballs
If you are looking to sell then just put a list on here , most of the guys on here will give you a fair price. . . alternatively put em on E-Bay

Welcome.

As you may have seen if you have been following the forum, some members do not like new members or those just seeking valuations.

Do not be put off by them. List what you have and the majority will be helpful.

As far any valuations are concerned, I would search the E Bay completed listings for each programme and that will give you a good idea of the current market price.

Thanks Martino.

Yeah i can imagine a lot of people simply dip in, take some knowledge and never contribute anything to the forum.

I mean valuation wise i will check eBay but really i was just looking to offer them up here first incase anyone really needed a specific one and by chance i had it. The rest will go onto eBay.

I'll get a list together Roughyedz and post it up when I can.

Welcome! As mentioned by other forum members you would be better off researching the programmes/ badges on eBay and dealers lists if you have no idea of their value, one recent new poster listed a number of individual programmes one after the other asking for valuations and got "the treatment".......... Better off to list them all, condition, details and a price your after......if you want to sell them via this forum....personally ive found this to be a great forum with a large number of members that are only to happy to share their knowledge of the hobby, football and their own collections....just make sure if your asked whether you like fish and chips you say yes.......and dont whatever you do mention anything about bedroom bandits or non collecting collectors!!! No

We do have a badge collecting forum too, we aren't all just about programmes. If you click on the forum index, then look under the general tab, the badge collecting forum is the 5th one down.

In terms of programmes, typically there isn't a great deal of value in most programmes from the 70s, but there are always exceptions.

Once you've done your research, you can either put them on ebay, or advertise them here. Obviously, there are fewer of us here, but if they sell you get the benefit of getting your money quicker (hopefully), without paying any fees, and that rosy warm glow inside from knowing you've helped a genuine collector out Very Happy

Hi Collectorballs,

I have also supported the blues since I was a lad, so its great to another Ipswich Town fan on the forum (there aren't very many).

Maybe we can trade or swap Ipswich programmes in the future.

Welcome again, regards from Nick.

Hello Forum!

I managed to get the first 150 into a list last night so here they are. I'll try to get the rest up by the weekend. I haven't had the chance to get valuations for each so if you do need one then drop me a message.

Thanks for the advice Pompei!

Im afraid you are wasting your time typing lists of run of the mill programmes no one wants them.
If you have a lot of time on your hands you can work for me on a commission basis of 10%.
I have around 500,000 programmes similar that no one wants if you want to come and list them for me you would be doing me a favour.

I agree totally with Bazza, there is little or no point listing 70's onwards programmes. the time and effort is not worth the 20p you might get offered. There are obvious exceptions but by and large this is true. Given that a 1970 programme is now 45 years old someone who is not aware may think it is worth a tidy sum so I can understand the thought they must be worth more. However, most you will not sell. I have a number of early 60's programmes and would happily take 50p each plus post but have tried ebay and 95% get no bid.

Thanks for the info guys.

I don't imagine them to be worth much (anything) at all, but I thought I would offer them up here before heading to the bay.

As I'm halfway through the batch the completionist in me wont let me stop!

500,000 programmes Bazza! That is a massive amount, where do you keep them!??

With the greatest of respect what makes you think that you will sell them on ebay?, there are 100's of 1000's on ebay all from this period that do not sell and will not sell. Surely it is worth putting them all up as one bulk lot and asking for a buy it now price and if you select something sensible you have a great chance of getting them off your hands as against thinking you will sell individually.

Good advice from some other members on here.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Job lot seems like the way to go.
The listing fees for putting these up individually would soon rack up!

I check the new listings for Sunderland programmes every day, and often just see the same things going round and round again with no change to the listing, description or price. Run of the mill 80s stuff at £2.99, that sort of thing. Surely, at some point the sellers must realise they will have to do something differently.

Karb I have around 3,000 Sunderland homes from 1970 onwards if you want them for 15p each let me know at that will be £450 into my pension fund.

I sold 300 1960s Sunderland homes at auction for £35 so really there is no value to them

I'd gladly have taken the 60s stuff off your hands, but I'm fully complete back to 1970 for homes, and only missing a couple of aways.
