Each season The Championship seems to get stronger and more difficult to get out of - promotion wise.

Interesting article on BBC website.

And yet in the last 2 seasons, clubs with modest pay structures, average attendances and no parachute payments, who were among pre-season favourites for relegation, have been promoted. (Palace & Burnley)

Forgive me if the article mentioned that, I haven't read it all.

Looking forward to the new season now that we have some players.

Bookies still have us as favourites for the drop but what do they know.

I don't know about that Pete but I had a dabble the other day for a win at Forest.

10/1 Shocked

Derby seem to be mentioned as serious challengers by just about every media outlet and they should be - but the lack of defensive cover in the event of injuries is a concern. As is the fact that our big summer signing is already ruled out for (probably) the whole season.

My money would be on Wigan to win the whole thing.

At the other end, if I were a Leeds fan, I'd be a worried man.
Some very odd things going on at that club.

And I'll resist the temptation to say "what's new" Smile

The bookies odds sum up how open this season could be.

For example, Huddersfield are 16/1 for promotion and also third favourites for relegation!

No, indeed.

Two mid-table sides there.

They know that any team with Tony McMahon in, should be favourites to go down Wink

We're going no where fast. Another 'done deal' with a top youngster from Serie A fell through this afternoon, shocking lack of quality at CB, no width or pace, the only striker signed to replace McCormack scored 4 goals in Serie B last season and on top of that we've got a non league manager who is constantly been undermined by the knob head owner in the press every other day. Safe to say there's not much optimism around the club at the minute. Apparently Byram has said he wants to leave today and Smith looks to be going to Millwall to top it all off Sad

We did play some decent football in last couple of pre season games, but can't see us getting a thing tomorrow. Good job we're setting off at 5.30 we'll be in pub for 10ish Very Happy

Fulham and Derby for automatic for me with Wigan winning the play-offs.

Yep, Boro in 2008/09 season.

Thanks for the reminder Sharrow, think I'll pop down the bookies today.
