You need to get to the bank and organise a loan
I suspect you will never see so many such superb items again at one go

Can I email bids or do they have to be scanned in on any kind of "official form"?

Yes you are correct im afraid, no potatoes or granary bread this time!!! Unfortunately the catering situation is out of our controll.
Although the hotel has an excellent light lunch menu and the local amenities include a hot and cold baguette shop only a 1 minutes walk.

There's an awful lot of top-quality items appearing on auctions just now.

Are collectors selling up while the going is (relatively) good?

I don't mind admitting ignorance when it comes to this - enlighten me?

I'm 58 and have no idea when I'll sell my collection, if I ever do. But one day I surely must or it''ll be burned. At the moment though, it's safe with me here.

So collections going under the hammer today could be belonging to people a bit older, or unluckier, than me. There's a recession going on (unless you went to Eton) and what's the point in sitting on an old pile of paper when you need to pay a gas bill?

Some collections will also come from deceased estates and the family decide to sell up.

Well, I ended up winning one of them.......which is one more than I expected to win.

Anyone know how much the 1915 AC Final went for?

Bid "enough" and you normally wave goodbye to a holiday somewhere.
