22 years ago and the programme for Aldershot's final league game. 5 days later the club went out of business and their results for that season were declared null and void.

Cardiff won this game 2-0.

61 years ago (1953) and an FA Cup semi final between Tottenham Hotspur and Blackpool.

This was Blackpool’s third semi final since the war, and the third victory, with a keenly contested 2-1 win.

The match was played at Villa Park in front of 68,000 spectators.

The programme, produced by Villa, is 8 pages and is similar to the 1948 semi final with pen pictures and team photos of both teams.

Lineups on the rear, pen pictures of each team on pages 2 and 3.

Clever front cover design, I always thought.

32.201 in attendance to watch David Nish and Bruce Rioch on target for the Rams in a 2-0 victory.

68 years ago (1946) and a Football League North fixture between Stoke City and Blackpool.

This was one of my last aways from this season and was no doubt a relatively scarce issue at that time. But since I acquired the programme it has appeared on various lists on a number of occasions.

The programme is a 4 page issue with notes, fixtures and team line ups.

Stoke won 6-3 with Blackpool’s goals scored by Mortensen 2 and Blair.

44 years ago and a Southern League Premier Division fixture between Brentwood Town and Romford.

Strange case, this one. Turned out to be Brentwood's one and only season at this level of football (having won the 1st division title the season before) as the club folded at the end of the season though I also read that they may have merged with Chelmsford City.

The 12 page programme is a well-produced issue with lots of info on the visiting team, news from the Southern League (including that Cambridge had employed a PR firm to assist them with their Football League application) and a couple of match photos from a recent game with King's Lynn.

There's also an interesting ad for the "Go Go Disco" at The Hive. Presumably a local nightclub of sorts. Admission 5/-.. Another ad is for "Stage One Boutiques" so perhaps Brentwood was still swinging as the 60s merged into the 70s?

The current Brentwood Town play in the Isthmian Lge (North) division but the locals must watch their football elsewhere as only 45 turned up for their last home game against Ware.

Greenway Almondsbury v Mangotsfield United, GFA Ameter Cup Final Played at Eastville in 1975. Sorry about the state of it. My Chinchilla managed to get to it and thought it looked like good bedding material, the little git.

63 years ago (1951) and a 1st Division fixture between Everton and Blackpool.

Going into this game Everton were a few points clear of the bottom 2 but a poor run of results saw them finish the season bottom and relegated to the 2nd Division for only the second time in their history.

Blackpool won this particular game 2-0 with both goals scored by Mortensen in front of 61,000 spectators.

The programme is a very neat small size 16 page issue.

On the same day Everton were playing Blackpool, Charlton visited Stamford Bridge for an entertaining 3 - 2 win in the 1st Division.

For the record 38,196 in attendance.

58 years ago and a local derby at Penlee Park, though something of a David v Goliath encounter at the time.

8 page programme, mostly advertising other than a page of club notes on the rear.

"Mousehole", of course, pronounced "Muzzil"....and it still is a delightfully eccentric little village to visit.

54 years ago (1960) and a Central League fixture between Newcastle United reserves and Blackpool reserves.

The programme is a standard 16 page issue similar to the 1st team programme.

Newcastle won 4-2 with 1500 spectators in attendance.
