33 years ago and the 6th round draw for the FA Vase gave Devizes Town a long trip north to Whickham in County Durham.

Tidy 8 page programme issued includes the story behind "Lang Jack", a 19th century stonemason/strongman and the subject of an 18 foot statue in the town.

Whickham won this match and went on to beat Willenhall 3-2 in the Final at Wembley.

Back to 1953 and Lynn are at home to Cambridge United. This was in the Eastern Counties league, well before Cambridges professional era.

Lynn lost the match 1-4, in front of 5258 fans.

I love "on this day" scans. It is very informative.

I wish more of you would contribute to this section!

It's fun - what the hobby is supposed to be.

It is a pity there aren't more contributors from different clubs but there only appears to be a handful of people who regularly post on the forum anyway.

And even then a lot of posts are about non football programme related topics, the latest one being Scottish Independence.

I couldn't agree more, it's a terrific thread and I don't think a day has been missed since it started so many thanks to all who make it so enjoyable Clap Ayatollah Bow Thumbs Up
I wish I could make a greater contribution but I aint got a scanner. Crying or Very sad
Someday soon perhaps Smile
