1968 and one of the rarer Charlton home programmes.

A friendly against the Great British Olympic XI. Charlton played them twice in friendlies in the 67/68 season.

Taking the scribbling on the programme as gospel it was 3-2 to Charlton with with 1552 spectators. This resulted in a whopping £162 gate receipts.

42 years ago (1972) and a programme for a Central League fixture between Blackpool and Huddersfield Town.

The Seasiders had many different styles of reserve programme throughout the 1970s, some designed as single sheets and others to be folded to make a 4 page programme.

This example is a tall thin 4 page version with match details on the front, team line-ups and a half time scoreboard inside and a list of items for sale in the Development Shop on the reverse.

Amongst these items there was the Rothmans Year Book for 90p, Anglo Italian Cup Winners car window stickers for 5p and assorted metal badges for 22½p.

I wish more of you would contribute to this section!

It's fun - what the hobby is supposed to be.

It is a pity there aren't more contributors from different clubs but there only appears to be a handful of people who regularly post on the forum anyway.

And even then a lot of posts are about non football programme related topics, the latest one being Scottish Independence.

65 years ago and to deepest Cornwall for the local derby between St.Blazey and St.Austell.

4 page issue costing 3d is mostly advertising. Very unusual typeface used.

Harry Monk, the home team's centre-half, also owned the local sports shop (the Sportsman's Cabin) and his advert is located on the back page.

A well done to young Master Mallett, the winner of the previous week's lucky programme number!

As the South-Western League wasn't formed until 1951, I'm not sure what competition this fixture is from. The Cornwall League?

Wales v Norway from 1985. Only in my collection due to one Rovers player (Neil Slatter) appearing for Wales.

Not at all addicks, keep 'em coming.

This is what was said about the game in the next home programme.

"Three more goals were scored against Charlton Athletic, and here we must give every credit to Len Stephenson, who helped himself to two of them and gave Derek Ufton, an England choice this season, a very uncomfortable 90 minutes.

For the opposition, Sam Bartram 40 years old, and as good as ever, gave a splendid exhibition of the art of keeping goal, and but for his brilliance there may have been a repeat of last season's encounter, which credited us with 8 goals."

49 years ago (1965) and a programme for a Central League fixture between Blackpool reserves and Huddersfield Town reserves.

This style of reserve programme is completely different to the one I posted yesterday which was also against Huddersfield Town.

These single sheets were professionally produced by the Gazette Printers, the printers who produced the Blackpool evening paper.

As well as reserve matches, these types of single sheet have been used occasionally for 1st team games including the Norwich League Cup semi final 2nd leg in 1962 and also for A and B team fixtures which were played at Bloomfield Road in the 50s and 60s.

Back to this day in 1954 for a trip to the south London nomads and an unexpected 3-0 win with George Robb netting twice & Sonny Walters adding the third.

Cumbrian Senior Cup quarter final from 1999 between village team Frizington White Star and their visitors, Wetheriggs, who hailed from Penrith.

8 page unpriced programme. Not a lot to read but "Mr Clean-It" has a nice turn of phrase in his advert and the referee's name is... Mr.Benn.

Which rather dates me, I suppose, and my taste in children's TV Smile

63 years ago (1951) and a 1st Division fixture between Chelsea and Blackpool.

The programme is an excellent 16 page issue crammed with reading, action photos, pen pictures of the Blackpool players and fixtures, results and tables for most competitons, including the Football Combination and the Eastern Counties League.

Blackpool won the match 2-0 with goals from Mortensen and Mudie.

The attendance was just over 36,000 for a Wednesday afternoon kick off.
