Any help compiling a comprehensive list of dealers specialising in Scottish clubs would be much appreciated.

Derek is a collector more than a seller but i've done a few exchanges with him.

I dont think Peter Rundo is actively dealing anymore, his website has not been updated in ages, although he continues to sell bits and pieces via ebay.

Sadly i think his prices are way OTT Sad

Not sure to be honest, I never buy anything from him and rarely look at his catalogue. His prices are very baffling to be honest, not sure how he attracts customers, but he obviously does.

Regarding D & D, what he used to do was, provided you spent £50, was allow you to chose another £50 from the catalogue!! What that was saying, to me anyway, was that the prices were double what they should be. Just another odd angle on a selling 'come on,' Years ago they used to offer £1000 for your old car in any condition against the price of another. The 'new' car price had been inflated by at least that amount and the punter thought he had gotten a bargain, the psychology of salesmanship.

From what I can see,his prices are mostly 5 times what they are worth. current season Stenhousemuir v Rangers - Ramsdens Cup £7.50,it cost £1.50,Glasgow programmes offers it at £3.50 with free postage last time I looked. I looked at thr catalogue once, that's a bold claim that he's Scotland's top dealer. Glasgow programmes & Almondvale would have a good case against him. Laughing

I know Tynie. There were only 30 made,as far as I know and I have resigned myself to the fact that i'll never own one. I have the more common one which has probably only got a different cover, but the same date, both are for the postponed match,no programme was published for the rescheduled one.

It is common for Stenhousemuir not to produce new programmes for re-arranged matches, normally we wait until the day of the game to print, but the Rangers game we had to print over 3 days (the copier may never recover) that is why there was a mix up with printing the wrong covers too many cooks in printing. As for 30 copies, well it could be more!

I would have liked one Boab,I emailed Margaret and asked if she could sort me out with one with a different cover.I didn't know at the time it was so rare, she didn't reply, she probably thought I was a fly man.She did sell me some of the common cover a week earlier though.

I've known Douglas for a long time, yes his stuff can be expensive for a new buyer but the grading is almost new. In addition, I've had a number of great deals through him, granted I did purchase multiple items but when I look at the average price per transaction it's considerably less than the single purchase price on eBay etc. And I'm not talking run of the mill, but rangers post 50!

This is about relationships and he's not let me down, nor has Brian at Almondvale.

They've both come up with some great items over the years!

At the end of the day, that's the most important thing,i've built up a good relationship with some dealers and if you are happy with everything then it's worth sticking with that seller. I'm in a position that I have to go for the cheaper option.

Don't get me wrong, I don't purchase whatever the price, in fact I regularly use eBay and sellers down south but the programmes I need to complete my Rangers homes rely on dealers as they don't come up or often cheaply.

The other issue is with my teams demotion to the lower leagues, even homes from 1970 to 2000 have increased in price more so after that as publication numbers were reduced.

As you've said, this is about retaining the dealer relationships that work and we have all got differing experiences. One thing is true, you need to build trust with the dealer as he needs to with the buyer.

Looking at International issues on sale at D&D from the last year;

NORWAY v SCOTLAND £15.00
ENGLAND v SCOTLAND £15.00
MACEDONIA v SCOTLAND £45.00
CROATIA v SCOTLAND £45.00
SERBIA v SCOTLAND £30.00

............and home issues are £7.50 each!

In my opinion absolutely ridiculous prices to be honest, although I guess some must pay it, although I doubt any serious collector would. The Serbia issue remains unsold at £5 on ebay, same with Norway, and the England issue you'll get for less than cover price. I appreciate dealers need to charge a premium and can't compete all the time with ebay prices, but still.....

Yet we wonder why there's less and less kids coming into the hobby?
