Does the removal of staples in a programme reduce the overall value of it? I have two programmes from 1962 in perfect condition, other than the fact that the staples are missing.

It's purely down to personal choice as there's no set retail price for any item. The vendor sets the price, the purchaser buys it if they're happy with the price. Obviously it's better to have complete programmes if available, but preventitive damage by removal of rusty staples can be beneficial.

Thanks. doesn't look like any rust has made it's way on to the paper, so i guess that it's ok.

I prefer older progs without staples, the rust and subsequent 'bleeding' is a big problem, certainly on 60's Wednesday programmes!

Got to agree with Senior82.

Off all the clubs programmes I've had, the worse three for rusty staples are, 60's Man Ure, Wednesday and Sheffield Pork Farms FC.

Sheffield, the home of steel and rusty staples!!! Crying or Very sad
