39 years ago and to. allegedly, the coldest ground in England for a mid-table Northern League fixture between Tow Law Town and Ferryhill.

8 page programme is poor value even for just 5p. Lineups, a league table and the rest is advertising bar page 2 which is blank.

Not sure of the score but Tow Law should have won - they listed 12 players in their team compared to their opponents' 11...

68 years ago and a Football League (South) fixture at the Hawthorns between 5th placed West Brom and 4th placed Derby.

26,000 see Peter Doherty (with 2 goals) and Jack Stamps on target in a 3-2 win for the Rams.

Large 4 page issue, no opponents name on the cover. Club notes include a plea for supporters to send in what clothing ration coupons they can spare so that the club's various teams can be kitted out. There's also a sly dig at the FA for not providing the club with the wherewithal to kit out their own players without having to beg for assistance.

Tough times in the West Midlands.

1st December 1956 - Scarborough Reserves v Barnsley 'A' in the Yorkshire League Cup.

Standard Boro issue of the time with "Old Timer"s notes punctuating the programme over 4 pages being the only writing apart from the list of Club and Supporter's Club Officials, team line ups in centre pages, fixtures / results and tables on the back page.
