68 years ago (1945) and a small 4 page programme for a Football League North fixture between Blackpool and Bradford PA.

Bradford won this one 1-0 and comleted the double over the Seasiders in just a week.

As I have mentioned before, the Blackpool ‘Complete History’ book by Breedon contains numerous errors. In the list of games for 1945/6 this match is shown as being against Bradford City.

1945 and a visit from the London Fire Force for a Corinthian League fixture won 3-1 by Maidenhead. Maidenhead finished 5th (of 9), LFF bottom with just 1 win from their 16 matches. Double sided single sheet printed black on pale blue paper.

57 years ago and a South-Western League fixture at Penlee Park between reigning champions Penzance and Falmouth Town.

8 page programme costing 3d issued for the game but, other than a few club notes on the back and the line-ups in the centre pages, the remainder is all advertising.

The Magpies went on to win the league again in 56/7, Falmouth finishing 3rd.

Nice place for a holiday - but the football ground is rather well hidden, surrounded by housing and very tall trees. Or, at least, it was when I was last there in the early 90s.

63 years ago (1950) and a programme between Blackpool reserves and a Rest of the League side.

Blackpool had won the Central League in 1949/50 and it was customary for the league champions to play a representative side the following season.

The programme was the standard 8 page issue but with an additional 2 pages, one side showing a team photo of the reserve team with the trophy, and the other side with details of the players.

If anyone knows the score/scorers from this game please drop me a PM.

52 years ago and a representative match played at what is now, I believe, the Brickfields Fitness Centre in Plymouth.

4 page unpriced issue with nothing to read other than the team lineups.

Kick-off time stated in the military style....1515.

HMS Ark Royal is the most represented ship with 3 players in the RN team.
