Apologies again sharrow.

Had a late night last night and with planning to be out for most of today thought I'd get my offering in early.

I must try and not let it happen again. Get My Coat

Yesterday's Hong Kong programme covered today as well but here is an England Euro 2000 programme.

This was the 2nd group game for England and was a very satisfying 1-0 victory against the Germans. Alan Shearer got the goal.

The match was played at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi in Belgium which was built for the 2000 UEFA European Championship in replacement of the old stadium known as Mambourg.

A large 132 page programme was issued.

Tampere United vs RoPS (Finnish Veikkausliga)

4 page effort from the former Finnish Champions Tampere United.

The club are currently in Limbo after being excluded from the Finnish league in 2011 on suspicion of money laundering. They have not played in the league since.

Tampere have since been exonerated of the charges but the chairman and Chief executive have not and legal proceedings are still being processed.

A supporters trust was set up when the club hit financial difficulties with the aim to buy shares and get a say in how the club was to be run.
However, the trust decided to form their own team in 2012 and their club play in the lower divisions.

Tampere's future is not clear.

RoPS (Rovaniemen Palloseura) have had their own problems with numerous allegations of match fixing levelled at them. A number of Russian players were sacked as a number of fixtures came under suspicion with unusual betting patterns. Even the coach, had been convicted of match fixing in his home country of Estonia.

In 2011 nine of the players received suspended jail sentences after they were convicted of match fixing along with a singapore businessman, Laughing who had entered Finland on a fake passport, and was already a convicted fraudster.

Blimey.....there is no suggestion that this game was fixed, but by all reports the crowd enjoyed a very entertaining Twelve-all draw. Wink

29 years ago and a fund-raising fun day for Rancel Boys Club who had just completed their most successful season ever, having won 5 of 8 competitions in the Aberbrothock League.

16 page programme, free with admission.

Highlight must have been the welly boot throwing competition to be held at 12 noon sharp!

I like the Chairman's message to all the boys competing:

"remember, if you are unsuccessful, there's always next year"

Euro 1996 and a superb 4-1 win for England against The Netherlands with 2 goals apiece from Shearer and Sherringham.

England won the group and at that stage I thought we had a good chance of progressing through to the final.

A 68 page programme was produced.

In my humble opinion by far Englands best performance of at least the last 20+years and i include the 1-5 drubbing of Germany which was a better result but by no means a better performance Easy Easy Easy

Nice one Cossie, you just can't beat that so I won't bother trying.

I will however offer an England programme for the games played against Australia in 1983.

This was the 3rd match in a very low scoring series where the results were 0-0 1-0 and 1-1. Trevor Francis scored England's goal in this one played on the 19th.

There was a chap gaining his only England cap who my mind had blanked out altogether - Nicholas Pickering of Sunderland. I wonder how many people remember him playing for England.

The programme consisted of 36 pages and covered all 3 games.

A 2-3 defeat for England against Romania in this Euro 2000 final group game meant England failed to progress to the knock-out stages.

Shearer and Owen were England’s goal scorers and Romania’s winner was a penalty scored by one of the substitutes in the last minute of normal time. A draw would have been good enough for England to go through.

The match was played at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi in Belgium.

A large 132 page programme was issued.

I was hoping to continue with an England theme but I do not have a programme for any of the 3 fixtures England have played on this date.

So here is a programme for a Euro 2000 group match between Yugoslavia and Spain played at the Jan Breydel Stadium in Bruges.

This was a cracking match with Spain 2-3 down going into added time and then scoring twice with one of them being a penalty.

Both teams did however qualify for the knock-out stages but both lost out in the quarter finals.

A standard 132 page programme was issued.
