There seems to be numerous postings enquiring of values for programmes. We already have members wants and members for sale facilities. Is it possible to have a 'this is what it fetched' facility where members can post prices of the rarer programmes they've either bought or seen sold.
I'm not suggesting run of the mill stuff be detailed but most members will have their specialisms and if we all did our bit over a period of time it could soon become the defacto reference site.
Any thoughts chaps? |

I agree that this would be a very good idea, it would give a better indication on how the market is going - over the past few years ive kept a record of the two leg lc semis and finals and noticed a large change in price - unfortunately some major dealers are way behind the times and insist on charging the earth for them. |

I’ve noticed that the ‘Completed Listings’ option on eBay is greyed out. That used to be very useful. |

mines greyed out also but if you use the right click button on your mouse (instead of the left button) over the word ''completed listings'' it will bring up a box, then use the left button, click ''open'' and it should take you to sign in for your user name and password, fill this out and it takes you to the completed listings. |

This principle of the original post seems to have passed people by with this spurious reference to completed listing.
Cornwallwhite let my first answer your question.
Go into ebay with your normal search function, look for the button marked 'Advanced Search', type your normal query into the keywords box, scroll down a little and theres a tick box 'completed listing'. Tick that - to make your life a bit easier scroll down to the bottom and change the results per page to 200, then hit the tit marked 'search'
You'll get all the items that have been listed, sold or not sold for a certain no' of days for your particular query.
Thats ok if all you're interested in is stuff listed on ebay.
My original suggestion to the powers that be was that in addition to members for sale and wants lists theres another back office database that records values from all sources, be it ebay, sportingold, sports programmes or uncle tom cobblies car boot.
At the end of the day I think most of us try to help out fellow members and what better way than for us all to do our bit for our to record what we've seen sold what we've paid for things or whatever.
Just think how useful this site would be if it was to become known as the standard reference point for valuations. Its far more reliable than a dealer saying well its worth between x and y. That in itself could attract more members which could bring even more of those wants to the table.
As a passed subscriber to Programme Monthly the only thing that kept me interested was the Auctionear thing or whatever it was called.
Good night God bless! |

Click the site map link at the bottom of every EBAY page.
Click 'Completed Listings' on the left side column near the bottom under the 'More Ways to find things' sub heading.
Enter what you want to look at in the small, thin search box upper left (e.g. football programmes or Team x v Team y 19XX) but make sure to click the small box on the right hand end of the search box next to the words 'Search completed items'.
Listings from the previous 60 days come up with those marked in Green being the items which have sold. Items in Red have not sold.
A really good indicator of the actual market as opposed to the 'desired' market' as we all would have it when we list our items at their respective BIN prices or when we list items as auctions at all the various starting prices we all put!
Hope that helps. |

it has been said many times before , but there is no logic whatsoever . There are many factors to consider. If you are talking about a particular club prices can be up and down like a yo yo.
The reasons are many, too soon before/after Christmas. Summer holidays, we don't pay council tax in Feb or March, that helps. Also what other interesting club stuff is on the market at the moment or has just been on. If a collection of pre war programmes sold a week before, most collectors only have a limited amount of money to spend. If nothing interesting has showed up for months then your programme could be worth more. Many many reasons why prices fluctuate . There may be a general trend ( downwards ? ) but on any given week who knows what they can bring? |
