See the goalscorers for Hartlepool yesterday were Hartley & Poole there must be others in years gone by where the scorers could make a name up.
ps I haven't found a Morecambe & Wise yet, nor a Cannon & Ball.

What about the following game on 12th September 1981
Arsenal 1 (Sunderland) Sunderland 1 (Rowell)
How often does a player score against a team with the same name as him?

Vaguely along the same lines (Very Vaguely)
In the late 80s early 90s wolves had Andy Mutch, Keith Downing, Floyd Street and Steve Bull. Very Political lol.

Wasn't there a Clapton, Baker and Bruce all on Arsenal's books at the same time, early 60s?

We once had Leon Britton (sic) and Michael Howard playing for us at the same time, and more recently had a Monk and an Abbott in the same side.

Celtic briefly has a Tebily-Scheidt defence around the turn of the millennium. It sure was.

I seem to recall Leicester City trying to buy the brothers Sol & Vinnie Kerr.
It was during the era when we were sponsored by Walkers Crisps.
The article was in The Sun, so it was obviously true (!!) and the date was somewhere around April 1st in the 1990's....... Confused

In recent times Everton fielded Jo, Leon (Osman) and Jolean (Lescott) and Scottish players as well. Quite surprised no one found a way to sing "Jo Leon Jolean"

Jo scored with Lescott once and Leon (Osman) twice.

I was at that game. Smile Not football related but, on my delivery there once lived a Revered Stiff and the guy next to me had a Revered Wiley. I often wondered if they ever took Sunday service together. I would have loved to have seen the notice board.

Clap

Motherwell had the defensive pairing of Ready and Strong back in about 2000, may be more suited to Rangers.
