If you have Rangers programmes i'll have a squint at them.
Watch out for this lot though it's not easy to separate them from their dough. People have said of me, Ye need a spanner tae get a 50p piece oot o' his hand.

Hi Robert,

No doubt far too late in the day now, but if you happen to have any Walthamstow Avenue programmes, home or away, I would be interested.

Thanks,

David

Robert doesn't use the site anymore.
There are others here will be able to help though.

Thanks Eck,

I've only been collecting for a couple of years or so, and do put a post out every few months in the Programmes for Sale at Fixed Prices section of the Forum asking for any Walthamstow Avenue programmes, home or away, and a few people have got to know me now and get in contact when they come across any, which is helpful. But always willing to hear about more.

David Thumbs Up

DGtaylor programmes has 3 Walthamstow Ave
QPR (a) 61/62
West Aukland Town FAACF 61
Uxbridge (a) 26/1/46

There is a search facility on the left after you download the catalogue.

Hi Eck,

Thanks very much for the reply. I always have real problems viewing Mr Taylor's on-line catalogue. Thought it was just me until I saw a whole thread of messages from others complaining about the same experience.

I think the 26/1/46 programme is actually home to Finchley, which I have, as well as the other two, but really appreciate your interest.

Thanks,

David

He's great, and looks a real character. We have a 14 year old lady (Doberman/Collie cross) who still keeps me busy with walks, although slowing down a bit now - like me.

I contacted Dorian Taylor by the way as I had another look at his February catalogue after your message and noticed a Bournemouth v Walthamstow Avenue FAC from 1967/68. Sadly it had been sold. Sad

Cheers,
David

He has two Rangers that I don't have but i'm not ready to fork out £100 + on two programmes yet. Here is the other canine member of our family,he'll be 14 in may.

Brilliant, and I bet he still keeps the new arrival in check. We also have a lady cat who will be 18 soon, so both of ours are old timers.

Getting back to football programmes, Walthamstow Avenue is my only real interest and I still count myself as a novice collector, but having looked at some of the web sites out there, have soon learned the prices being asked in some cases are out of all proportion and you need to be very selective.

Incidentally, I have bought a number of programmes from Rob Bazley of nonleagueprogrammes.com in the past, but can't seem to get any response from him these days. Do you know if he is still dealing?

Also, because my interest is so specific, I have tended to steer clear of programme fairs up to now, on the basis that, once I've paid the fare to get there and, in some cases, an admission charge too, there could well be nothing of interest for me. Perhaps that's a mistake, I don't know?
