I must say that looking at all the 'flickr' sites posted on here, might just give me the inspiration to upload all my pompey collection.
My question is :-
Is flickr the best site, or are there other sites.....

Well Pete
I have to say Flickr because of it's flexibility. Plenty of members have other sites which they can and do customise to suit their needs, but with flickr you make it want you want and can change the format of how you show your stuff, get fed up and in seconds add new images remove others.
I am bias as it is a simple way of working and as i am not "into computers" like others on this forum it suits me down to the ground-it is just so simple.
If you are on BT i am aware there are no fees to pay to get unlimited images-i am so i was given what they call a "PRO" account, there is a restriction and it may be around 200 or so images for no cost if your not affiliated to BT/Yahooo but the actual cost i am advised is peanuts a year maybe £20-30-perhaps others would know better.
I have uploaded 6900 images so far which is around one third of what is still to go on-this has developed into a "lifes work project" and is going to be in progress for many moons to come[provided they are not sky blue ones!]hahaha
So as the first few hundred are free-go on and try it, lay it out as you need it-if you are not satisfied then close it down and move on to some other format.
If you need any help on setting it up i and all the other forum members i suspect would be willing to give their advise and no doubt after this post many will give you their opinions-ok, this was mine!.
Leslie

Totally agree with Leslie (though I didn't realise it came free with BT).
If you upload images in the wrong order (as I often do) then it's a simple job to edit the batch at any time.
It's also been the impetus I've needed to start getting my various collections back into some sort of order after several years of neglect.
It's all good fun - adds to the hobby's enjoyment. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Here is a link to my flikr Sets
http://www.flickr.com/photos/63092394@N03/sets/
I'm with BT but didn't realise I was getting this for free to be honest !
Programme Collections uploaded include my two main collecting areas:-
Barnsley FC - programmes and other memorabilia etc
Yorkshire Non League programmes pre 1982
I have also diversified into a few other topics which take my interest from time to time - including other local Barnsley area bits and pieces. It's surprising how many views these other topics have had.
I have to say I have been inspired by looking at other collections on flikr and upload now and then when in the mood to share stuff. Stops it becoming a chore.
It is a brilliant way to share what you have with others |

Maybe we can have a list like the website one?
Can admin put it to the top of the thread? Or maybe create 2 fresh sticky posts and add to them when this and the website posts are added. E.g. restrict the lists just so admin can update to keep it nice & tidy. _________________ Nuts and Bolts Web Design

Another non-Flickr site but you can view my Wrexham one at:
www.wrexhamprogrammes.com
It was built with Weebly which isn't as easy to use as Flickr but I'm a geek and fancied playing around with building a site from scratch! _________________ www.wrexhamprogrammes.com |

An excellent site for sure, some nice touches especially showing the tickets in that way.
Well Done!-all of the work is your own-a very individual site indeed, unlike flickr where the format is pre-determined but i have to say does suit me but if i had the skills to be more adventurous -i would be!

Well Done also!!
A lot of time and effort and hours and hours of scanning and working it all out-it is a labour of love for us all no matter which system you use-and it chronicles so much of what you have-nothing better in my view in being able to show what has survived and is around.
