Are you on the Whacky Backy.
We did The League and cup double in 1931 and there is no way we would play a third rate team.
WE PLAYED BLACKPOOL AT HOME ON THAT DAY.
WE WON 4-0..
£100 to Charity says your its not our first team or reserves.

BAZZABAGGIES is correct.

I would check the local paper for around that date and that will tell you who they played.

Spookily West Brom played Sunderland in the matches before and after the Blackpool match on 5/9/31.

Sorry lads but the game is listed in my Aldershot programmes from that season, I can happily post a fixtures page from one of them as proof. I can only assume that you do not, and have never seen a copy of teh prorgamme

The West Brom v Blackpool match is listed in both Complete Record books for that date.

Thanks dlb for your observation,
I did say it was the reserves and not the first team in my first reply to Bazza. I will post a photo of the fixtures page from the Aldershot v Bristol City Res game from 16 April 1932 later today which should be proof to all doubters.

There you go it must have been our 6th team.. The A team were playing Bourneville,, sometimes lower league clubs make out they were playing a stronger team than they actually did Laughing Laughing

I must remind you that you did say that you would donate £100 to charity if I could prove that the game happened, I am sure that you will honour that pledge

First of all you said it was a first team match
and then you said it was a reserves match.

I have proved that both our first team and reserves were playing that day... So now its up to you to prove what team they played.

Looks like Im right until you prove otherwise

I didn't say it was a first team match in the original post. What we can say is that Aldershot played a West Brom team on that date. the actual team cannot be resolved unitl such times as the programme comes to light. I shall leave it at that
