Rooneys goal has just been Voted the best in prem history! No where near if you ask me, Cisses goal last night and Crouchys against Man city a couple of months ago were better and that is just this season! So many top goals not even in the pole... But man utd have the biggest fan base so its no surprise he won.

It was the one that won the game and beat you and you bitters can never forget it, now it will be engrained in Premier League history forever and shown and shown and shown. I do not care if it went in of a hair on his bollocks-you lot can never change it-or will ever be left to forget it, after all it took no skill to attempt such a feat.

The way the media talk haven talked about the Cisse and Crouch goals is embarrasing. Sky sports have gone into hyperbole, but then again they would because they are representing their product, the Premier League.
Several times on Wednesday night, there was a continious tirade about 'is this the best premier goal ever'.

Yes both Crouch's and Cisse's were excellent strikes, but that's all. Crouch's Volley for Liverpool against Bolton, was for me a far better goal.

Given the context of the fixture, whether you like Man Utd and Rooney or not, that was a great goal.

Rooney's was a goal that if you were there you'll never forget it, whichever side you were supporting.

Awards come and go, memories are forever (hopefully)

I try to avoid any vote with the term Premiership History in it. It's a massive disrespect to the proper football that was played pre 1992.

Might be different if the played with real footballs, on real turf, in real boots and acted like real men.

Rooneys goal was good, but I do think their have been goals just better over the last 20 years, Crouchs against City was one of them.

Sky don't think any football existed pre-English Premier League.

Im not sure how long the voting went on for but isnt it a bit premature doing the best goal in 20 seasons when the 20th season isnt over! If it was done in the summer im sure Cisses goal would have had a shout for Top 10 Neutral and only 1 goal from past 10 years... Whats happened too all the wonder goals? We need Le Tissier back Bow

same with Player of the year-all voting finished in March so gota cut off. Cisse for example would have been as prolific as RVP had he been in for a full season perhaps, so i guess a line has to be drawn somewhere.

For the best goal in the premiership perhaps the occassion and pressure and athleticism and skill is taken into account also, i thought Crouch's goal showed great skill and he knew what he wanted to do-it goes in the net or up in the stands it was a fantastic effort, also Rooney against Newcastle some say was better as he was getting a bollocking from the ref and the ball came to him and in a fit of pique smashed it in the net from 30-40 yards, if Cisse had scored earlier in the season then he would have been a candidate also as would hundreds more but you cannot blame United for having so much support to vote, after all most clubs are like marmite really it is just that my club has been a dominent force in the Premier League since it commenced more so than every other team and 12 titles confirms it and yes they have had better teams for sure who never obtained as many points but that is just statistics. Last years side was poor in relation to previous winning teams and this season is even poorer and it does not help if your main man defender and captain misses 80% off the season alsong with a terrier in midfield like Fletcher. Vincent Kompany is the best defender in the league this season-how would City have coped to miss him for 30 games-look how they had their blip when he missed 3 games!. City has more fire power up front and a classier midfield but i would say both are similar in terms of defence overall -the stats show it, so should the Reds win the league or City win the league despite the strengths and weaknesses of both sides they BOTH nearly threw it away but in two games time just ONE of them will get hammered for throwing it away and no one can second guess the outcome, so much for all the United haters and knockers as with a much poorer side we have fought tooth and nail to earn the right to be theret at the end. Whoever wins it will be the best team in the league who won more points over 38 games and whoever it is you have to say WELL DONE!, and we shall start again in August.

In the 20 years have all prem games been recorded by TV ? or did the first years only have a few games. If so a fair few of the goal were not recorded at all.

Sad thing is next season more live games will be shown then ever before and games kicking off on Sat 3pm will be almost down to almost a 3rd of all PL games.

I do miss the days when they all played at the same time, What i find strange though is that its the English league and we cant show the 3pm KOs on telly in England because of all these legal reasons and what not, yet every other country in the world pretty much has our 3pm kick off games live on telly. Quite often i will go online and watch a saturday afternoon game streamed from USA and other countrys.
Also i have the ESPN goals app and was checking out the arsenal goals yesterday as they were happening, i went to have a look at the last goal just before 3 and they had taken all the goals down from the game as Highlights were not allowed between 2-45 - 5-15

i know its only a silly little awards gimmick but im sure some people just vote for ones that involve there team, or avoid players they dont like.
espn had a best team, save goal etc in 20 years vote on there website, again a bit premature... i think it was about 6-7 players in each position to choose from on the team vote, im sure it will be mostley a Man Utd mix but we will see! I ve posted a link for when the results are up
