These are the Grimsby AWAY programmes I need from the late 70's (78/79,79/80) and 80's to make up the full set. Any help very gratefully received!!

78/79 (7.10.7Cool Port Vale v GTFC
79/80 (21.12.79) Carlisle U v GTFC
80/81 (02.12.80) Preston N.E. v GTFC
(07.02.81) Derby C v GTFC
81/82 (31.10.81) Derby C v GTFC
(10.04.82) Rotherham U v GTFC
82/83 (26.02.83) Derby C v GTFC
86/87 (27.12.86) Sunderland v GTFC

There is a bit of a pattern with the Derby programmes. I understand that at this time they were in newspaper format and are as rare as rocking-horse manure! Perhaps one of you could confirm that.
The only HOME programmes I'm looking for are:

1971/72 GTFC v Doncaster R (FLC Round 1 played on 17.08.71)
1988/89 GTFC v Huddersfield T (Sherpa Van Trophy played on 17.01.89)

Cheers,

Ian..

Yep, the only programme I'm missing from 80/81 is away at Derby. Shrewsbury and Preston both had newspaper style programmes for a while too and are pretty hard to get hold of.

Thanks. I actually bought a single sheet on e-bay for £1.00 but having read a thread on here I think it may be a photocopy. I will contact these blue and white people. Very grateful for your help. Not seen this site before.

Regards,

The Derby newspaper style programmes from the early 80s are particularly rare because we weren't doing too well at the time (feels familiar). Attendances were low too so not many programmes were produced. I managed to get my copies from a Derby collector but if I come across any more I'll let you know.

Thanks for that. I did manage to get a copy of the 81/82 "paper" on e-bay a while back. Forgot I'd made the original post on here actually.

The Derby papers must be so hard to keep, especially in a reasonable condition too!

How much did you pay for the Derby v Grimsby prog? Don't think I paid more than around £3 per copy for all of mine from the early 80s, and some were even cheaper. A Charlton collector was asking for an offer of £30-£40 each for two Derby v Charlton progs from the early 80s, glad I waited now!

According to Andy Ellis' Relics of the Rams book, Derby v Chelsea/Middlesbrough/Leicester are the hardest to obtain from the 82/83 season.

All of my newspapers are folded and some are yellowed - not much I can do about that.

As I remeber I was the only bidder and got it for 99 pence! It ain't in great nick though. I'd have thought given it is newsprint that time will have wrought serious damage on most of that ilk.
