Perhaps he's (assuming it's a he) just trying one last go before they end up in a skip. I imagine when I go through all of mine and get a bit ruthless with the duplicates and old tat I will pretty much shift them at 'give them away' prices rather than see them go in the bin.

I've been collecting and trading for 20 years. Bazza you and a few others have been ever present and the people expecting to make money from selling at £1 free postage can't make money. If its a clearance sale then they won't make enough to buy new stock and they will have a debt when they have to pay fees.

You and the others I have bought from will always win because at a £1 a time you can't invest.

Assuming this is not going into the out-tray at work, how much 'profit' is there? A free listing. Prog probably thin and small enough to go as a letter, so that is 52p for second class stamp, and a re-used envelope. 10% Ebay fee of £1 is 10p. Paypal fee is 3.4% plus 20p per transaction, which on £1 is 23.4p. Total costs = 52 + 10 + 23 (rounded down) = 85p. 'Profit' of 15p. Use your 20 free listings in same way, and after a lot of effort it, gives you £3 spending money. Might just about get you a pint in Wetherspoons.

He has only done this on one item, maybe he's like me and won't sell a load of old shite and would rather give it away than throw it out.

Ideally we all want them as cheap possible. But if no one want's it, you literally can't give it away. Mate of mine said he was offered a load of 'old' Scunthorpe programmes. They were around the year 2000. 95% are worthless and due to the size of them, not something he was interested.

Eck - your new avatar reminds me in the "Number One" logo they used to use at the end of Top Of The Pops in the early 70s!

Back when, if it wasn't Slade, it was Mud. Or Wizzard. Or The Osmonds. Or Sweet. Or that bloody awful 'Eye Level' theme by Simon Park that stayed at the top of the charts for about 8 months...

Ah memories.

Was TOTP on a Thursday night?

I remember Radio One used to play, in reverse order, numbers 1-5 in the charts on a Tuesday lunchtime.

It certainly was and I remember waiting to see Judas Priest at the Birmingham Odeon on a Thursday night whilst they trawled out their latest commercial crap on Top of the Pops and then after they'd helicoptered back from the BBC in London having to leave halfway through their set to make the last bus back to Walsall. Would love to do it all over again though....

Bolan used to actually sing the songs even though it was a recording being played.
