This is about JT Robertson via Google which helps to authenticate it but I have no idea on valuation, sorry.

Quite an important man in Chelsea's history looking at his Wiki entry

Do you mind me asking how you came across the medal? Any chance of posting a couple of pictures please?

JT was a Scotland International who was the Player/manager in Chelsea's inaugural season 1905.

I think he also scored Chelsea's first competitve goal in the League.

It would be nice if the medal was related to that Smile

For genuine, rare, items then probably best to go to auction if you are looking to sell.

There are Chelsea collectors with big wallets (but none on this forum we have been told recently) who would pick up on it.

Try Andy Lane at Football Sports Auctions, Robert Adcock at Sporting Memorys or Chris Williams at Sportingold for guidance. They all have a website for contact.

Yes a scan would be great. Probably worth £10,000 + as they are paying a grand for press photos , 1960s ticket stubs and 1970s reserve teamsheets... Thumbs Up

Good to have a guide price but as you will appreciate the actual value will be decided by what a buyer is willing to pay on the day, which may be higher or lower than the £10,000 guide price.

The market for quality items is still strong at present and you could put a reserve of, say, £8,000 on it so that it would not be sold for less than that.

Also do not forget that the Auction House will take commission from the hammer price - allow for a 20% deduction - although you could try an negotiate a lower fee for a quality item.

Do you need the money? If so sell. If not it is up to you. No one knows what will happen in the future.
