I don't like these printed at home pirates any more than the rest of you but it looks like his customers are happy paying so much for home produced rubbish.... Ebay feedback in the last 12 months for him is 742 positive with only one negative. ... certainly not the statistics of people people being duped into thinking they are buying the real thing....

I think the problem is that many people don't know that this is a home-made programme. Even when they received it. I got 2 questions from German collectors about the authencity of this programme, that's why I started this post.
If he would clearly state this is a "pirate" or a self made programme, no problem. But he's trying to trick people, and as Fred says he's done this in the past many times, even making photocopies from old programmes, or making so-called VIP-programmes from macthes played 50 years ago, and selling them for 1500 pounds.
And he has used the "VIP-edition" trick a couple of times the last past years.

@Fred: Thanks for the info. I didn't know the details... Good to see he doesn't have a license anymore...

In England we have a Trading Standards Department (may now be called something different) in each town to which you can report suspect items. They investigate and prosecute the seller / supplier if they can.

Do you have anything similar in your country or is it down to the Police?

There seem to be similar rackets going on in Eastern Europe, at least it looks like this on eBay. The only way to know if there really is an official programme for a game is to contact the home club's media department and hope they understand you, isn't it?

If you mean the guy in Belarus then he is a printer. He claims to be the official editor for the national team and a number of clubs there. I've no reason to doubt his claim but hard to prove too.

However I do know he reprints just about everything else. He normally gets the source file emailed to him. His Armenia v rep of Ireland 2010 was pretty good (only a stripe inside th eprogramme was the wrong colour) but his Bnei v Shamrock Rovers 20111 was an awful copy of the original - wrong size and poor colours.

Isn't the solution here to report your concerns to eBay and let them investigate and remove any fakes under trademark legislation?

You could also let the club's and UEFA know. My experience is they are quick to crack down on fakes.

I have bought a programme from soccerock in the Netherlands, is this a fake and is soccerock another alias?

Crying or Very sad

A KUBAN KRASNODAR HOME EUROPA LEAGUE TIE.

there are some genuine dutch sellers though;
voetbalfanvoetbal is respectable.

Can someone advise if soccerock is a fake?

my Kuban Krasnodar programme from SOCCERROCK does however seem to be genuine?

Looks professional and have seen exactly the same from images on the net?

If anyone can put my mind to rest on this, that would be appreciated.

Done many times by many people and ignored. He generates revenue for ebay. Reporting it to UEFA may help but he is getting more careful at infringing their copyrights.

Andorra do not even produce programmes for International games that can be "bought", only very limited VIP issues which are very difficult to get hold of (as Gary can testify).

I'd treat this seller with absolute caution.

Have raised my concerns with this person. Any advice on a next step?

Would that be to report him to ebay?

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry. There as much chance of him visiting you as there is of him actually being at the matches for which he's producing pirate programmes Wink
